Religious fiction with a fanatic twist

I have to say this book was probably not one of my favorites. It was actually a little hard for me to get through. It revolves around a little girl with special gifts and family members who are on the fanatical Christian beliefs. She has one family member who is trying to help her by hiding her gifts from the other family member who would see her as a child possessed. It just quite honestly was not my cup of tea but it was well written and well plotted out. The narrator did a great job and helped make the story more enjoyable.

Not my type of fiction

The story is strongly bible based and comes across as preaching. The performance is lacking and the 7 year old sounds more like a 2-3 year old, I was annoyed and after 2 attempts to listen to it I gave up

Interesting Concept

Wow, what an interesting concept, well written and very imaginative!
It's so hard when you're torn in such opposite directions, not knowing which ....
Great story, great narration, I really enjoyed it :)

Suppressing your gifts

I was given a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. Amberlin has always been told by her Grandmother that her gifts are from the devil not by God. But her Grandfather believes she has a different destiny, which is confirmed by an unusual woman in her dreams. The story was a good launching point and engaged me as a listener.
