Excellent Read
This is a fantastic book. The story line is intriguing and the feeling of the overall book keeps things moving at a nice pace. The bits of history and the details about Louisiana and the culture of the people were well represented. The twist at the end caught me completely by surprise. I highly recommend the book.

Beautiful Story
Loved all of the twists and turns of the plot. It kept me very entertained. Good story telling and performed well. Totally enjoyed the book. This is my first Mindy Starns Clark read. I will look for others.

Just when you think you have the plot....
Struggled at first, I think because I had just finished a book with a man narrator. I just couldn't get into for some reason but then I took a 9 hr drive with 6 hours left and I am so glad I finished this. Twist and turns I didn't even consider. A good listen!

Good story- Christian based
All in all, this is a good story. What had me on easy, though very spiritual myself, was the insertion of strong Christianity in the last chapter of this book. It was not necessary. In fact, it actually ruined the book for me. I respect all beliefs, keep them out of my literature.

What a fantastic story!
What a wonderfully twisting tale, full of intriguing detail, history and written in beautifully illustrative language. Loved it! I listened throughout a Saturday and until late at night. It’s that good.
Jill Smith’s narration was exceedingly well done. Props!
And to Mindy Starns Clark, what a joy to read/listen to such a fantastic story - all written in decent language without needless swearing and so on.
