Story
A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

The world’s food supply grows aggressively, occupying every inch of earth, no matter how inhospitable. World hunger is averted. Humanity flourishes. RC-714 is digested, absorbed…and passed on. The Change affects small fast-breeding mammals first. They multiply with the same aggressive speed as the ExoGen plants, but an insatiable hunger drives them to violence. A war between species breaks out. When RC-714 reaches humanity, along with every other large creature on the planet, civilization implodes.

Story
In the wake of the cataclysmic events that reshaped our world in 2020, a sense of relief washed over us all. By late 2023, I think we were ready to just live life again. I know I was. It was a time to make new friends and put the past to rest. Rayne and I hadn’t known each other long, but we were building a solid friendship, nothing more. It was our common interests that sent us on vacation together to my remote cabin. What we didn’t, couldn’t know, was that we were on a collision course with the end of the world as we knew it.

Story
Years after the outbreak of a mysterious pandemic, hardly any survivors are left in the quarantined wasteland of North America. Hunger and the menace of man-eaters are nothing compared to the ferals–those who were infected and mutated by the virus. The ferals have an unquenchable need to hunt and kill, and even a single bite will quickly transform human into a rabid beast. Two survivors, the pregnant Megan and her brother David, leave a deserted colony to seek a safer haven.

Publisher's summary
In a turbulent upbringing, Natalia's resilience helped her navigate the harsh realities of foster care. As she sought stability after high school, working as a bartender and pursuing night classes, a cataclysmic event shattered their world, resurrecting the dead with a craving for blood and flesh.
Driven by a tenacious will to survive, Natalia confronts the apocalyptic nightmare. Complicating matters, the epidemic disproportionately affects women, forcing her to remain vigilant against both the living and the undead. With her sharp tongue and rebellious demeanor, Natalia unwittingly becomes a beacon of hope, drawing a diverse group of individuals who are inspired by her fearless path in this new order.

Wow! A crazy, awesome twist on a zombie apocalypse book and a great start to a series. Hated it to end.
At first I didn’t think I could tolerate the narrator but her voice definitely matches the character and it grows on you. My only issue, most girls are not walking sex addicts and I don’t know many woman who like their cervix pounded during sex.
However, I’m looking forward to the next book in the series. I just wish they were longer because 6-7 hours is short for one credit.
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
