Publisher's Summary

Sometimes it takes someone else to show us what we are truly capable of becoming. Suffering from years of violent abuse, Ryan Campbell has learned how to keep people from getting too close. But when you shut yourself off, people get hurt along the way. Never caring much about others, Ryan creates a world in which he doesn't have to feel. When Ryan meets Candace Parker, all of his walls slowly begin to crumble. Not sure of the truth of who she is, he feels his mind is playing tricks on him. Unable to force out the thoughts that consume him, Ryan is haunted by visions that torment him every time he looks at her. He finds himself swallowed by guilt and blame, but he's unwilling to turn his back on the one person that could possibly save him. You've heard Candace's story in Fading, now hear Ryan's.

Way to long with very little in the way of romance

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Not unless it was in paperback.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I would have cut out about half of it since it was mostly tears about the something. There was no depth.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I would have love to have a female voice or someone who has a passable female voice. Every other female was a valley girl. Blah.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

A level of spicy. It was too tame.

Ryan as a Girlie-man :(

Narration - Angelo Carillo, Piper Goodeve
There is greatness here and there is not so greatness here. Unfortunately, we only get one chapter with Piper's narration. She's simply fabulous. Angelo has a terrific narration voice and pretty much one character voice and unfortunately all the rest of his character voices are a little too over the top for my liking. It sort of made parts of this a little hard to listen.

The story is another retelling of Fading but now it's through Ryan's POV.

Major additions include a look into Ryan's tortured childhood - more details of what happened with Jack and it continues past the ending of Fading to tie up all the loose ends for Jase & Mark as well as Ryan & Candace.

Did I enjoy his POV? Yes, parts and others nope. I fell in love with Ryan in Book one, but in this book, he's sort of grows a Va-Jay-Jay (no offense to those of us of the fairer sex). He was just a big girlie-man in his head for a lot of the book. There were tons of gratuitous sex scenes to the point that I got bored. (and that normally just does NOT happen to me). I did really enjoy his POV regarding moving slowly with her and helping her overcome her fears regarding sex and being touched. All the rest were unnecessary fluff.

To me, it was just ok.

Omg I love Ryan Campbell

If you could sum up Falling in three words, what would they be?

I so loved this book better than Fading. This book gave more of a complete story for this couple. Ryan was so loving and supportive, everyone should have a Ryan in their life. This world might be a better place.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Falling?

The extended story that picked up from where Candace's story left off in book 1. I liked seeing them work through their relationship and communicate better. Oh and I loved the diaper incident with the baby, I laughed out loud. I also enjoyed the cat situations too! It just showed another example of how much he cared and loved Candace.

Which character – as performed by Angelo Carillo and Piper Goodeve – was your favorite?

Candace was performed better by Piper, obviously because she is a female. I also like how Piper portrayed her male voice's too. She had good inflection for the male voice's. I can't tell if I liked her better for Candace because by the time Piper does her part as Candace the character, Candace is finally on the road to recovery and therefore stronger and more confident. However, I thought Angelo did a more passionate and feeling portrayal as Ryan. I didn't care for his female Candace, however his mother's voice was ok. I guess I liked them both which is why I am thinking that it would be nice if some how they, being Audible.com & Company could use both male and female narrators to perform more like a play on tape. But I don't know maybe it is too difficult to produce.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book had me laughing and crying. It also had me a little frustrated because of how many times candace apologized. Spoiler alert stop reading this if you don't want to know what happens. I was also frustrated because I would have liked to experience the joys of reading about her pregnancy, I was kind of looking forward to Candace telling him she was pregnant. Especially since Ryan was so good with his niece's and nephews you knew he would have enjoyed the impending fatherhood and that could have added to the story.

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed the story of this couple and enjoyed this book because of the complete story from start to finish.

Love the story--the narration killed it for me

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I read this book a while ago and was happy that the Audible version became available. Until I listened to it. What is up with the narrator's female voices?! Awful! I cringed every time he voiced Ryan's mom. And his voice for Candice did nothing to convey her strength. And Kimber? Just...ugh! He did a good job as Ryan and the other male characters. But I died a little bit each time he spoke for a female character. I'll be sticking to the written version.

What did you like best about this story?

I love this series. The story gripped my heart and I love Candice and Ryan together.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Yes

Any additional comments?

I have a hard time believing this is how the author intended to portray her female characters.

I wish they combined the first and third book

I would have liked the book more if they combined the first and third book into one and have a back and forth pov. It's hard to listen to 10 hours or so all of the same pov. So you listen to the first book and then this book is the same story so it's a lot of repeat of what you already heard. It would have been a lot better and less repetitive if the author combined the two books. But I liked his pov more than hers from the first book.

Anticlimactic

Narration of female characters: Creepy for the mother and whiney for Candice. Irritating. Kept waiting for excitement that never arrived.

Falling

I have to say that it was amazing listening to these three stories back to back! They are stand alone but it’s nice to listen to a series and tie each one together! Great narration and storyline too!

Well worth the read

This is a hard book to read. It's heart breaking and painful but so worth the read. The characters are flawed and relatable. You will find yourself pulled into the narrative.

Nice love story

I liked this book. It was heartwarming. It was more believable than couples who fall in love in 2 days

Falling

This book is emotional, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
