High heat mixed emotions

On heat level and performance this delivered! The story was a tough pill to swallow though. Im admittedlly not a huge fan of age gap, but I could deal with that. And I enjoy the step taboo trope. However, the timeline of the pivotal death and the onset of the affair was challenging to get past. It made the characters hard to connect with and unlikeable. When the MMC was confronted by another I found myself agreeing with the other character who was supposed to be the villain. Kudos to the author for really being able to stir up the emotional cauldron.

This is only the second book review I’m writing, loved this book! Although the romance is taboo, somehow, it doesn’t feel that way, and you just root for them all the way through. Great read!

Taboo ✅️ Romance ✅️ WHEW! 🥵 🔥 I definitely think it's worth the credit!! I wanted like 2 to 3 more hours of story... more of the MCs together. I couldn't get enough. I didn't know if the previous dynamic of their relationship would make my cringe once it shifted but surprisingly it didn't. I would compare to Torn by Carian Cole (which I also loved).
