Wow but not in a great way!

I love EK Blair...LOVE HER...BUT...I didn’t love this story. It was too boring in the beginning and the sex addition discovery should’ve come a lot earlier in the book. Not only that but the ending was ridiculous. It came out of left field and was uncalled for. There was already a lot going on and didn’t need to occur. So many different things going on with this book that I don’t think I’ll get the next one. The good news is, it’s not as bad as being reincarnated into a damn caterpillar! 😂

Why? Oh Why? So Frustrating!

This book had me captivated from the beginning. Great story, well-developed characters, rare subject matter, the works. I listened to most of it in one day and couldn't wait to finish the last couple chapters this morning. An hour later, I am just mad.
I understand wanting to provide anticipation and even wanting to increase sales/profit, but I listen to books for the love of reading. When a story stops abruptly in the middle of it, I will most likely not get the next book. I read so many audiobooks that I will not remember the story and would have to go back and "re-listen" to the first book. It's just not cool. At least release the books at the same time. As great as this book was, I won't purchase the next if it doesn't come out very soon. :( Disappointed listener!!!

CRAVE

No matter how many times I have listened (about 6 or 7 times) to this story, it gets better and better and better......you don't want to miss it!
Oh ! You have to listen to " CRAVE two" to know the conclusion to the story.

Loved it!

This book sucked me in from the very beginning and kept me interested until the end. I'm so glad I have part 2 already downloaded and ready to be listened to because the ending has a big cliffhanger, and I can't wait to see how it all ends. I really connected with the characters and loved the dual POV with Adaline and Kason. The narration was excellent. Jacob and Elena are two of my favorite narrators. They do an amazing job bringing the characters to life. I highly recommend this book!

Not heart lifting story

If you are looking for romance and heart lifting story, this one is not for you. I had a hard time listening to this story as the H is a sex addict. I managed to finish this story. Even though, it took me several days to do so. This story was depressing and the end didn’t redeem the H. Sad that the h chose him instead of Mica( not sure if this is correct). Hope the h get herself tested since the H can’t stop having sex with any ho.. gross!

Some Usual Angsty Pitfalls

Sort of the typical get to love or loathe the characters/pu!l at your heartstrings work. I'm sure I've read this before...maybe for free on a streaming site? Or possibly because it's a bit formulaic.

That being said, good job by the narrators, including Jason Clarke, or Jacob Morgan, or Christian Fox, or Zachary Weber, or whatever the hell name he's hiding behind today...which is why I don't bother looking for his work anymore.

I was all set to grab book 2 (why are ppl complaining about the cliffhanger??? It's titled BOOK ONE, people. Of COURSE there's going to be a jarring halt to the story. It's to make you want more.), but I read book 2's reviews and decided against it, even with the prime days discounted $1.99 price. Sounds like it's all formulaic angst, secrets, etc. I'm just not invested in these characters enough to go through it with them.

If you love the tension, I strongly recommend the Tristan and Dannika series. It's in my Top 5, the only non-reverse harem on the list. Be warned...it's got some bite.

Sweet, with very serious issues.

I really enjoyed this book. A much deeper book than I expected. The characters are developed well and the story is pretty realistic, from all the craziness in high school and the different values in different parts of the country and how kids were raised.
There are some pretty messed up, but serious, themes here too. Lots of cheating and family issues. Both Kason and Adeline seem like good kids. Addie is incredibly sheltered and naive, where Kason is almost the polar opposite. He had a tough life growing up, and Addie is just starting to have challenges.
Their blossoming relationship was enjoyable, except when Addie was too judgmental (but then again, she is a sheltered teenager). Kason is really dealing with a LOT for someone his age.
The only part of the book that was annoying was the very end and Addie’s absolute ignorance of the world. You could see that coming a mile away, and that made it annoying. I am, however, looking forward to how she and Kason deal with it.
Both Elena and Jacob are fantastic narrators, two of my favorites, in fact. And they certainly didn’t disappoint. Would have liked to hear the more emotional parts from Kason’s POV too. We all know Elena rocks at getting all the feels across. Great job by both!

Dumbest girl ever

Adaline is one of the dumbest girls ever. She went to far with the situation. She needed to tell KASON. I FEEL SO BAD FOE HIM.
How could KASON get angry when it wasn’t her fault. Dumb story. She took it to far. Shit happens hurtful things but you make yourself get over them. Get back to life.

Not what I expected from Jacob and Elena

When you see those names narrating you do get an expectation of the story. It didn't go where I though it would. It started with Addy and Kaysen in HIgh School. Lots of growth and learning from both of them. Which this could be good or bad, I'm not saying it was bad at all. Just not what I expected from the narrating team and the description.

Where the story ended though, I'm a little apprehensive of where it will go in part 2.

Not your typical EK Blair book

I enjoyed this book. Kason a boy who thought he was from the wrong side of the tracks and Addie a privileged young woman, but was sweet and unassuming fall for each other from the day they met. Till Addie is devastated by what she feels is Kasons betrayal of their love. After several weeks Kason enlightens Addie with his reasons, they resume the relationship against her friends wishes, but The Heart will have what the Heart wants.
This is not a typical E. K. Blair story, this was more a young adult read, but it deals with a topic that could go into any age category.
