The extraordinary new Lucas Davenport thriller from number-one New York Times best-selling author and Pulitzer Prize winner John Sandford.
After the events in Gathering Prey, Lucas Davenport finds himself in a very unusual situation - no longer employed by the Minnesota BCA. His friend, the governor, is just cranking up a presidential campaign, though, and he invites Lucas to come along as part of his campaign staff. "Should be fun!" he says, and it kind of is - until they find they have a shadow: an armed man intent on killing the governor...and anyone who gets in the way.

Critic reviews
"The latest Prey novel is exciting, politically astute, and ultimately terrifying. Sandford and Davenport are in top form.” (Booklist, starred review)
“Add a hammock under a shady tree, and you've got a quintessential summer read.” (Minneapolis Star-Tribune)
“Sandford, as always, sets a heart-pounding pace. He permeates his work with wit, an engaging hero readers have come to cherish and a cat-and-rat match that in this case draws on the streak of violence that for years has left a bloody stain on the nation. Timely and troubling, it’s a must-read for thriller devotees and political junkies.” (Richmond Times Dispatch)

Any additional comments?
I've liked just about all of Sandford's Lucas Davenport books. I've liked them a lot. And I can't imagine better narrations than Ferrone brings to them. My one complaint with Sandford's Prey series has been that many of Sandford's bad guys have been gruesomely sadistic, much more so, it seems to me, than the plots required. In Extreme Prey, on the other hand, while there's plenty of violence, sadism is nowhere to be seen. And its absence doesn't detract a whit from the intensity and excitement the book creates. As usual, Sandford and Ferrone are outstanding

What made the experience of listening to Extreme Prey the most enjoyable?
John Sandford weaves a story both believable and exciting. I also enjoyed Richard Ferrone's voice work. It took me a bit to get used to his voice. Not because it's not an excellent voice, but because his Lucas Davenport and the one in my head were not the same. Once I got over that issue, I enjoyed his voice work.Who was your favorite character and why?
Lucas Davenport is the star of the story and always my favorite character.Which scene was your favorite?
The major plot resolution at late in the book. I won't go in more detail to keep my review spoiler free.If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Lucas Davenport returns in a story to die for.Davenport Entertains Once Again
