Absolutely fabulous

So the thing I've noticed about Ellis's writing in this universe, so far, is that an occasional reset is required because the slightly overpowered main character faces escalating challenges until the scope is bigger than what works for any individual.

This story is like Thorn's series (Yesterday's Spacemage, ...) in most ways. Beside a lot of action, obstacles, and risk, there is a simple satisfaction that one's moral convictions correlate with success and a peaceful way of living. Ironically, neither Thorn nor Bud (main character herein) have a solid respect for eternal personal consequences with sexual behavior... They appear to be monogamous, but not completely. It makes me think that, with other well defined and very intelligent models for society, the author wishes there to be less discipline on sexual behavior along with an otherwise improved society. That is just speculation, of course. Mostly, each book is a very satisfying treat and I hope to acquire all books from this universe.
