Paperback vs Audible
I started reading Emotional Detox (Paperback) and was instantly captivated, so much so I decided to purchase the audible version so I could listen in my car. I am very disappointed with the audio version. The reader is monotonous, boring, and devoid of any emotion. I’m wondering is this was what the author was aiming for? If so, she definitely accomplished her goal. The voice is annoying, and sounds like a robot. If the author needs a voiceover actor, I can record it. No charge.

Not quite helpful
Really unsure what this book was about. If it was aiming to be a self help book, it missed the mark. It was full of fluff, a thinly veiled attempt by the author to convince herself that she’s ok after being cheated on by her husband. I don’t believe her, she doesn’t even believe herself. Past half way through, still no useful content. The book was the product of the author trying to emotionally detox. It does not assist the reader in doing so lol

The entire premise of this book is about her husband cheating on her
Pretty disappointed in this book - it was extremely hard to get through - she should not have been the narrator - her voice is to monotone and it was exhausting - I wanted to learn and use some of this info but I felt like it was hard to get engaged without falling asleep

Not what I expected
I picked up this book thinking it was a biblical way to deal with emotional issues. I was incorrect. Though some steps had value they weren’t from a Biblical background though scripture is sprinkled through out the book. I wasn’t expecting the explicit language used either. I was disappointed. Just my perspective.
