Life-changing book

I wish I had read this book when I was 20 years old…57 years ago. I had a wonderful marriage of 32 years with a soulmate that ended 3-1/2 years ago. I have been bereft since his loss, however this book gives me hope that I might find love again, and with its knowledge, that live could be deeper and even richer than I have known before.

One of my favorite books!

It's great to have an Audible version of this book finally. Bell Hooks was an amazing author who spoke harsh truths about Black Love. I'm thankful for her words and for her life.

Great Read

This is a book i would recommend to every single human! Not specifically for man or women but both sexes! It opens up the topic of love in ways we’ve never thought possible, connections that are in our faces but fearfully look away from.

Loved love

Her piece on enlightened witnesses, put in words the love I have for individuals in my community who stepped in when my mom couldn’t do it by herself. We are not born with knowledge of how to love, it takes someone to SHOW US.
