Publisher's Summary

America’s financial doomsday. A wayward son. The epic struggle to survive.

Country music icon Shane Black is this year’s headliner for the New Year’s Eve bash in Times Square, but when violent riots break out, he’ll need more than a six string to escape New York City.

After decades of abuse as the world’s reserve currency, the US dollar’s day of reckoning is at hand. Without a functioning monetary system to purchase basic goods, society rapidly descends into abject chaos. Protests, looting, and bloodletting take the place of civility in a country which becomes thoroughly unhinged.

Thrust into an apocalyptic gauntlet of terror, Shane must resort to savage brutality to get out of Manhattan alive.

Could the impending currency collapse be the broken road that leads him home?

Shane left everyone and everything he knew to chase the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. He found fortune and fame but can’t forgive himself for abandoning his hometown sweetheart, Julianna. She moved on years ago, but when Julianna shares a secret with Shane, it changes his life forever.

The coming economic meltdown will bring America to her knees.

The impending pension crisis proves to be the catalyst which pushes the US economy to the brink. With no other tools at their disposal, the federal government is forced to print an unprecedented amount of new currency. Faith in the dollar erodes, and the dominoes start falling.

Don’t miss this chilling glimpse into America’s future. Listen to Black Swan, a pulse-pounding tale of redemption and survival, today!

As with all works by Mark Goodwin, this book contains no profanity and no embarrassing sex scenes. However, if you're offended by conservative principles and references to Scripture, this book might not be for you.

Fiction or soon to be facts? This is going to be a Great series!!

Mr Goodwin’s new series is Fantastic! I thought I’d listen to the prologue and then get back to the audio book when I wasn’t busy. Haha! Next thing I knew I was 2 hrs into the book! It’s a fantastic and relatable book! I love the characters, which are brought to life even more by Mr Pierce’s narration. Mr. Goodwin’s new series may not be as fictional as you might think! America’s economy, although fair right now, is fragile enough to change at anytime...with any political decision.... I can’t wait for book two, so I can continue to follow along with the Dysphoria characters and each dilemma, and victory they have to deal with.

Only a novel, but economic collapse is inevitable. Might look like this. You decide & act.

Religious again

Why do good stories get polluted with religious crap? Why can't it be left out for the realistic readers?

One of Mark's best

Although I really enjoy Mark Goodwin's writing (in particular the Days of Noah and Days of Elijah series), I was pleasantly surprised by how good this story was. Lots of twists and did an excellent job of exposing the weaknesses in human nature. Particularly refreshing was the mistakes and shortfalls of the main characters and the struggle to overcome them. If he continues the rest of the series in like manner, I may have a new favorite. It will be a very difficult wait for the next installment. As always, the reading by Kevin Pierce is a joy to listen to and allows me to get immersed in the story instead of being distracted by the narration.

Getting better and better!

I’ve read almost all this author’s works. From the beginning, it was obvious that he is a master story teller. As good as he started out, it is obvious that he is getting better and better. Thank you and keep up the great work!

Awesome

Mark is a gifted author, his observations of the past, present and future make for a powerful combination in his writings. Can not wait for book 2 in this series. Kevin Pierce is a powerful narrator, his tones while reading draw you into the stories making you feel as if you are living them first hand. Great Book....

Short, but great.

This could have been longer, but Mark did a great job of setting up for book 2.
