Publisher's summary

A dungeon core's education is a careful mix of having an open mind, a steely determination, a dash of curiosity, and...a certain resilience to explosive forces!

After the grueling task of murdering a feral dungeon and the near-death experience that came with it, the year has finally begun in earnest at Ansith's Academy for Dungeon Training and Combat. Rem Snowfur has his class load in place, new abilities at his beck and call, an assistant, and a goddess in his corner to boot.

With so much working for him, the Foxkin turned Dungeon Core is progressing more swiftly than he could have ever hoped, but will that be enough for Rem to keep up with the fast-approaching midterms and their fabulous prizes?

With the adventurer's guild building up their new town at his borders, the task of building up his dungeon proper, and keeping Ansith—not to mention his friends—in the dark about his new ally. The margin for error is only getting narrower, and Rem cannot afford to slip up now. He's learned too much and come too far for that. It's going to take more than the risk of death, a few bullies, and the unfortunate secret history of his entire race to stop him from rising to the top.

Class is back in session. Don't be late.

Perfect Continuationthe Narrator Is...

First big thing: Why change who was narrating? The change was a jolt as I listened to the first and second book back to back, and man this new narrator does not work with many of the characters. At least not as a solo act, at the very least he should have been an addition to the last Narrator instead of a full replacement.

His voice isn't bad, just the acting and his range doesn't work for what is needed in this book to be a solo act. That really distracted and tore down this book a little in my eyes. Hope this can be rerecorded with the other voice actor working with him instead of the entire replacement.

For the story, I do dislike Rem's new "helper" as she just attached herself instantly without giving him a way out of it. Even as the story went on I was hoping she would get caught and removed cause it seemed like she was really forced into the Rem's life. Almost as much as death slammed him in the first book, and she is helpful but more of an annoyance cause of how she ended up here, and we as the readers have no choice but to deal with her as well.

Rem has come more to accepting his role and is more so eager for it, as he may have a chance to reach out to those he use to know. He jokingly complains about it being too much work from time to time but he is taking it in stride and willing to become a good dungeon to strengthen his people. While his friendship, which I think will become a new romance with the Amber is more boring then anything else between them, and kinda want it to be pushed to the background for sure, but now we have a flaming racist in the mix, so we need something to balance that guy out till he eventually dies.

Seeing other characts even for short burst is good showing the world is still going on outside of what Rem is dealing with. Along with the random threats that force him to grow more, though due to his little helper it doesn't feel as great as him doing it on his own. Looking forward to the next book and seeing how this story goes.

narrator fail pronunciations

this is the second book, so the narrator has a reference for how to pronounce the names from the first book. its not hard. you can change how they sounds but not the pronunciations. that just so annoyin when you get use to hear it one way, to change it.

Pronunciation issues kept breaking me out of immersion

I generally liked the story but the voice actor keeps pronouncing “sImilacrum” with a hard I. S-eye-mulacrum. He does the same with visage. It is so irritating.

new narrator

I wonder how many times people will make the mistake of getting a new narrator for the series.
