It's not easy being a house that eats people.

Zaria was just a normal woman, living a simple life—until demons burst through her door and ate her heart. Reborn from tragedy, Zaria rises from the ashes as a Core, but with a twist. A rare mutation has turned her into a Mutant Core, destined to explode unless she forms a bond with a human witch to become a Striga.

Her mutation? Legs.

With the power of a full dungeon compressed into a walking house that is her body, Zaria sets out on a journey to find her Striga and avoid detonation. Along the way, she battles demons, builds her dungeon, and feeds her mimic mobs.

This is not the life she once knew, but it's the one she's determined to make work, no matter who she has to walk through to get there.

I loved this book. I gave it a shot because of the dinosaur dungeon series but this one is even better.

Unique to the genre

This is the beginning of a promising series the author needs to expand there a building as a storyteller what other than that it has good potential with great structure it's just keep in mind the threads need to be tighter In some places I'll load over the place and the fights can be just a little too worthy at Times but it shows such great promise and it's an interesting story I just wish that if they're going to use this sort of folklore that they had set in a Yugoslavian country

What an amazing tale to stumble upon. From the character development to uncertain doom. This author does an amazing job guiding you through this adventure. If your on the fence give book one a try!

The Dungeon That Walks Like a Man

The last moments of Zaria’s life were terrifying as a demon that burst through her door stalked her and ate her heart. Death was not the end though. Zaria was reborn as an unstable mutant dungeon core. Her mutation is that her house is her dungeon and the dungeon has giant chicken legs. She chooses mimics as her monster type, so everything in the house could be a monster. She must bond with a witch to stabilize her core. That and there are demons to hunt!

This is a really fun take on the dungeon core genre. Zaria is able to pick up after a dungeon run and walk over to the next location and even join in on the fight. I love the way the author incorporates Isekai into the story. This seems to be a stand alone book, but is tied into the CoreVerse of the author’s other series. Sierra Kline does a great job as the narrator!

Dungeon cores and mimics

Story idea is a bit unique dungeon story type. How ever has few tone or story jumps. The way it’s played out feels like it has too many ideas for the story. All of which makes it difficult to follow. But that’s not where the true problem exists. The voice actor is soft spoken with an hollowed room feel to it. Needed to raise my phones volume all the way up and Bluetooth speaker nearly maxed out to hear her. And if that wasn’t bad enough at a couple points the VA sounds a bit bored. So was very difficult to get invested in the story line. All in all the dinosaur dungeon books the author made are far superior and I’d prefer more to that then a continuation of this story.

very very meh
