Very cool premise, cheesy antagonist
Spoiler alert!
The beginning of the book is extremely gripping and interesting but then kinda drags and repeats itself towards the end. Regardless, it’s pretty solid (IMO) and my biggest nit pick is mostly just with the audio version of this book. Specifically, the voice that was chosen for Lector.
The stereotypical Uncle Fester, sleezball voice directly contradicts the father-like description that the author provides. Also, the gravity of his motives and his eventual death would have likely had greater impact if it weren’t for the aforementioned cartoonish antagonist that was presented.

A WonderfulTrip
This is my first review and I really enjoyed traveling with Zack. I have ever read this writer before and normally read the likesofHarlan Ellison, Michael Moorcock and such. I have to say the plot was fantastic and you really cared about our protagonist while you did have a dark bad guy and even covered some socio cultural issues. Looking forward to a sequel.

Enjoyable

Can this book make the metaverse seem boring? Yes
Mr. Pratt takes the intriguing idea of an infinity of universes (the metaverse) and.......nothing. Ho Hum. The idea of a universe traveling man who flips to new worlds every time that he sleeps sounds interesting at the least. What we get from the author is a shallow tale with one dimensional characters. I couldn’t develop any empathy for the MC....seemed no purpose in his ramblings. The villain?.....don’t bother...portrayed as a sniveling Uncle Fester....honestly, this book comes across as a teen comic book. A waste of your time and a credit.
