Evie and Sebastian are one of my favorite Kleypas couples. Mary Jane Wells does a terrific job fleshing them out.

Pure Enjoyment

I really enjoyed this book. The narrator made it so much fun to listen to. She make the hero sound like Shere Khan lol. Very good storyline had me on the edge of my seat.

My favorite of the series

I think North Saint Vincent is one of my favorite characters of all times. The way Mary Jane Wells read him is so perfect. This is my third time through I think, and I’ll probably do it again when I need a good retreat.

Made Me Happy

I don't usually make a big deal about the narrators, good or bad. However, I FELT like this one did the two main characters perfectly. Every tone and nuance felt like how I would expect them to be speaking and acting within the story, and it definitely added to my enjoyment

The story itself is lovely. I'm a sucker for the bad boy being kind to, and eventually falling for, the "quiet" girl. However, this quiet girl is not a pushover, and I like the courage she shows within the relationship. I feel the reforming of the rake is done well.

I know that this is a book I will enjoy listening to again in the future.

Sweet story

I love books about wallflowers and the rakes that reform for them.

In this Sebastian falls for his wife, Evie without even realizing he’s done it. And it happens pretty quickly, again, before he even realizes it.

Evie’s father owns a gaming house and when he dies Sebastian never leaves like he originally planned, in fact he throws himself into the business much to Evie’s surprise.

They both learn a lot about themselves but most of all they learn to let someone else in.

Not original but entertaining

I enjoyed this light story but it is forgettable like too many other similar stories

My favorite historical romance listen ever!

So good, so emotional, so satifying.

Love the story and dialog and the narrator, Mary Jane Wells, brings the characters to life!

Excellent

Very well written, superbly narrated. Anything you can listen to that is narrated by Mary Jane Wells is a gift. There are some extremely steamy sex scenes so if that kind of thing is not your preference you might want to avoid this one.

love the author and narrator

it was a cute story, I really liked Evie. amazing how MJW can narrate, she makes the story lively. I couldn't wait for this book, it's pretty much the same of the typical re gency romance but the combination of characters, author, and narrator was worth my credit.
