Publisher's Summary

Something unholy is hunting the streets of Burlington, Vermont, stalking the campus of the local university. Chris Gordon and his contingent of demon hunters is drawn to the northern Vermont city by a brutal murder of hellish proportions, ready to banish it from Earth.

But this Hellion is direct from the Abyss, incarnate and fully possessed of all the powers of high Hell royalty - female royalty at that. It’s been said that the female of the species is deadlier than the male, and this one might be the deadliest of all.

How do you flush out such dangerous prey without recreating the chaos that befell Washington such a short time ago? The answer: bait. The bait: Declan O’Carroll, witch prodigy with powers so sweet it’s like candy for the Devil’s own. Can Chris and company catch this monster before any harm comes to their friend and colleague? Or will Hell have its way? Can they see all the angles or does this Abyss bitch have the edge?

Not sure why but this book seems to be lacking

If you've come this far in the series, well It's one of those transition books.
maybe there was so much to cover it lost a lot trying to fit it all into an hour TV slot instead of a much longer book.
I've always loved this series. I hope the author finds his zone again for this series.
... waiting with cash in hand for the next book☺☺

Short

Its good, but way to short for the series. Seemed like filler or a side story to me.

They get better and better

I love this series so much that I believe I am going to re-listen to each one all over again! John Conroe weaves a fantastical story that includes science fiction, magic and the paranormal. I love how the focus has shifted more to Deckland O'Carroll and his inner group of Stacia and Omega. Deckland has enormous power but his humility, and his mate (Stacia) keeps it all in check. Aliens, fairies, vampires, werewolves, elementals, demons, witchcraft and technology....everything you can imagine are throughout every one of these books. James Cronin does an excellent job of making each character come alive! I am excited to see what comes next...

Worst of the series

If this was the first book of the series, I would have never listened to book #2. Unfortunately this felt like a complete filler story that should have been a few chapters in a full book. This series is no literary work of art, it’s mindless fun. Unfortunately I barely made it through this forced attempt. I hope the next one returns with a better effort.

Development

The story grows. The characters should change and develop, but at times it seems that they suffer the fate of some series of books in that the main characters have hit a growth ceiling. The witch, Declan, doesn’t seem to really change with all of the experiences he has gone through. Of course, this is just the author. As I have noticed the same interactions and speech patterns displayed in other youth characters in his other books. Over all though the series remains of interest though there seems to be many paths developing at once.

This series keeps getting better!

I don't believe Mr Conroe can write fast enough for me. This series has been finely crafted into a masterpiece. Mr Cronin as the narrator has brought thus story into my life as if I were a friend to the characters looking on.
Thanks to both for bringing this to audio.
