Zac Riggs would not have survived on Ludus for very long without his adopted sister, Gazra-tam. Gazra-tam is an ocelot-race Mo'hali, and Riggs is an engineering student from Earth who was transported to Ludus. The two make an unlikely team. Story
Accidentally murdered by a cleric in another universe during a botched resurrection, Arnold, a semi-pro gamer, wakes upon an altar to find himself incarnated into the overweight body of a farmer who could have been his fatter twin. He’s not the hero. He’s not the villain. He’s certainly not the chosen one who is there to save the world. He’s a clerical error. It could be a bad joke, but apparently, it happens so often that they have a standard procedure for returning you.

Warner spent his days like almost anyone else. He got up, went to work, answered phone calls in a call center, went home, spent time with his daughter, and went to sleep. Only to repeat the pattern over and over and over. Life was as mundane as anyone could ever fear it to be. Today was the day that all that would change. On this day, his daughter Maya would be nearly fatally injured, plunging Warner into a world of paranormal creatures, monsters, and magic he’d never known existed. The only consolation is that he discovers he’s not quite human, either.

Publisher's Summary
After helping save a country on Ludus from a demon invasion, Henry and Jason could use a break. Unfortunately, life moves on, and new problems will appear, especially for their friend, the new ruler of Berber. Being orb-bonded adventurers wielding powerful magic means they have the responsibility to do what others cannot.
Some members have left, and there will be new additions. The Delvers LLC team is solid. But while Henry creates new magi-tech and Jason perfects his deadly power, evil forces are gathering. The men from Earth had better enjoy what down time they have, because it’s not likely to last.
Events on Ludus and out among the rest of the universe are spiraling toward something terrible. Henry Sato, Jason Booth, and Nora Hazard might find themselves being drawn toward the center of the conflict, or knowing their luck, fall right into it.

don't buy till book 5 is out
i hate writing this review, but this book is not much of one...
after years of waiting we get what is essentially a layover...
it does a decent job of reminding us of who everyone is followed by BC manoeuvring the Delvers and Nora where he needs them to be for the next book as well as setting up the rest of the world...
this book has plenty of content, but very little substance.
I wouldn't be so upset if I didn't know that BC can do better than this, because the 5 star is only there for the Amazon algorithm, it is not earned on this books stand alone merit.
Jeff on the other hand does everything he can with what is given to him and he deserves praise for the result...
here's to hoping that BC gives us an actual Delvers book in 5 or I'm sad to say I might drop the series if this is what we should expect going forward...

Delvers X Hazard
The weakest entry into the Delver series. I wish the author wrote a recap chapter for both Delvers and Hazard, but instead Hazard is just shoehorned in and we are expected to have read the Hazard series. The problem is that each of the author's series are so different from one another that they're not all going to resonate with everyone. So if you never read or even disliked hazard... good luck (shes basically a female version of Henry; blunt and an asshole, but without the humor and is kinda cringe).
outside of the hazard, the story feels more of a Delvers book 3.5. the book moves at a snales pace and more of a side story.

This book can completely be cut from the series and you would miss nothing. Stretched out side quest and introspection. The enemy are mentioned, you meet a few Grisious briefly, no great accomplishments or revalations.

I love this series. I've been on holding my breath to see what develops next. This book seems like a filler. Nothing important happens in this book that couldn't have been done in a side book. I feel like the writer is better than this.

Not needed
The last few books have built up going to the academy and the author Blaise Corvin decided that wasn't the path forward anymore. The book was eleven hours and for the direction he decided to take it the first half hour and last hour are all anyone needs to listen to. The only thing that saves the book at all is the work of Jeff Hays, but it isn't enough for me, I will be getting a refund for the story and that makes me sad after waiting for this book for so long.

Honestly, the fight between Nora and Marie was bull. A draw? Really? Nora’s ego needed to be put down a couple notches for how she treated Marie and she got a cope out. And the screaming of HAZARD got really old in her first book, hearing it now is just cringe. Pretty much this series could have gone without Nora.

Good filler
I know this is just a filler. I even know that more could have been explained or at least a little more action. I enjoyed it for the most part, BUT BUT BUT what is he doing to Jason?! I love Henry’s character a lot, but Jason was supposed to have an anger problem he was working on. Now he seems kind of weak minded! I liked Jason’s development in the previous books. Jason is probably the most lethal character at his level and yet he gets nothing in this book. You have to use him I want to see what he can really do when he is unleashed. Henry gets more and more even a high priestess along with new skills. That is awesome. but Jason gets nothing. I seem to remember that Jason was supposed to be the smart one in the beginning. Blaise has to do better with his development for him for sure. Sorry I just had to rant about that bc it seems like a main character is being pushed to the side for side characters and that bothers me. With that being said the Other characters are good just work on my boy Jason for real. He is underrated

Who the heck is Nora and why
Suddenly a new character that distracts and confuses. stop the skipping and jumping in the stories crafting. that is beautiful when artistically done, but not for adding a whole new character that is suddenly important to the story and seems really forced.

I couldn't bring myself to finish.
This series was fine starting, then it started to drag, then book three impressed me quite a bit. And then I just couldn't finish this one. I found this series a bit hit or miss for me and this one felt like a task for me to complete. The characters really just felt...... depressing this book for me. Marine literally made this book unbearable for me and I think I am just completely out of this one.

Another great book
Great book again it melded seamlessly Noras books clean set up for the next book or two
(Very minor spoiler and and less minor dyslexic grammar and spelling warning)
in the first book I really liked marine I enjoyed her perspective how Jason and Henry came in and started wracking stuff like gods of death and war and then act completely normal but more and more as the series progresses hey complaining and whining is becoming grating even thou she now is and has everything she wanted power love her heart songs so on I really hoped that becoming powerful would stop her from being (if I was speaking in luden) a whiny little female dog but it continues I know Nora say the same sorta thing so the author is doing it intentionally but to let him know for me it makes me dislike the character
