Publisher's Summary

"You can put that man in a suit, but he'll never be tame."

One look at Jericho Forge, and I knew the rumors were true. He was a predator, and he had set his sights on me.

I knew better than to bet more than I could afford to lose that night. I knew better than to bet myself. But desperation leads to bad decisions, and I thought there was no way I could lose. I was wrong.

Now I have no choice but to make a deal with the devil.

Three Books should have been two at most

I love Meghan March's books but lately I feel cheated because her books are too short and you have to buy three books when there should have been two at the most.

Meghan, don't make me stop buying your books. I don't want to feel cheated by an author I love so much and want to read. You make enough you don't have to split the books up to 4 hour mini books.

Good start but don’t care for the female narrator

Love this one but the female narrator is a bit hard to listen to with the way she drags her words dramatically. I thought I’d be used to her since she read the previous series but I can’t lbs

Cliffhanger!

I hate cliffhangers! The author just tries to suck you in to get more money. The narrators did a great job, but just no thank you on the next book!

Female Narrator E.M.

She sings her words to end in a long vowel with an uhgga. She seems to not want to use her real voice. I am only on the 3rd Chapter and am struggling to listen. I increased the speed to 1.25 to help. I am used to Sebastian and Andi from your books as they are perfect.
She just needs more voice over coaching then she will be great! Joe is fine.

PERFECTION... I SAVORED EVERY SINGLE WORD

I’ve had two of the three books in the Forge trilogy in my Library for a wee while now - I was impatiently waiting for the final book.. so now that it’s been released, I pretty much binge-listened to them one after the other.. and, right from the start, I was hooked. Because this trilogy has everything I was crossing my fingers for.. sizzling chemistry, great banter, suspense, twists, tension, a sexy badass alpha billionaire, a feisty heroine, sex, tricky interactions, character growth, drama and angst. It’s a dual POV cat and mouse romance that was doomed before it ever got started.. however, at the end of their rollercoaster ride, you’re treated to a very sweet HEA. Once again Joe and Erin did an awesome job at bringing the characters and the action-packed drama to life.

Worth a credit? Yes I loved every minute.. and I wouldn’t change a single word.. even the angsty hard ones!

Female Narrator - Annoying Voice

The woman narrating half the story tries so hard to sound overly sultry to the point of being obnoxious. Makes it very difficult to finish because I don't want to hear her disingenuous voice.

Disappointed

I did not like the female narrator’s performance. This led to my not liking the heroine also. I found the narrator’s habit of emphasizing the last syllable of the last word of sentences very annoying.

Meghan March is one of my favorite authors and I really wanted to give this a great review. Sorry.

Forge, Forge, Forge

India Baptiste is in a serious bind. Her Sister has been taken and she has to pay to get her back. Known for her abilities in the world of Poker, she sets up a game with the odds in her favor…that is, until he shows up. Spoiling her plans and taking her two steps back, this man is all kinds of wrong. She has to stay focused to get her Sister back. His presence is overwhelming, and he doesn’t take no for an answer. How is she supposed to win when she feels like he knows her every move?
Jericho Forge is a beast! In all sense of the word, he is cutthroat, clear, concise, and when he sets his sights on Indy, he is determined to get her. Not really because he wants her, but she is the Queen in this chess game of life, and he is determined to get his “checkmate” moment with a person he considers an enemy. Knowing just how much his archnemesis wants her, that is the very reason he takes her to be his. That is until he gets a taste…
The Good: The suspense in this story was nail biting. Frustrating at times, but good overall.
The Bad: I love a story that is not only good, but when the narrators bring it to life, it makes it that much more. The female was good, but somewhat annoying with the dragging of her words. Every moment seemed to be read dramatically even when it wasn’t called for.
The Ugly: Using people as pawns is so awful. Even though I loved this story, the thought of people getting used this way is just plain ugly!
This was my first Meghan March novel and I must say that I enjoyed it. Drama, suspense, and lust were paired nicely and although there was a cliffhanger, it was good. It made me wonder what would happen next. This listen was short enough that the next book could’ve been paired with this one to make one book, so that was disappointing. This story was solid and I loved the tense attraction between the two main characters. India was annoying at times, but it somehow worked in this story. Jericho was true Alpha personified and fierce. His background is a mystery and hopefully there will be more development of his character…. the “why” of who he is and what made him needs to be answered. Overall this was a good listen! A Solid 4 Stars!

Narrating

I don’t care for Erin Mellon’s narrating. Almost didn’t finish because of it. I will watch for her name and try to stay away from her books.

Nah, the second book was better

There was far too much pain in this story, which too away from the story. Also, the fact that it's part of a trilogy worked against it. I would recommend the third book when it comes out. I'm sure all you'll need to know will be recapped then.

Love her stories!

Megan not only manages to capture your attention, she holds you completely and utertly spellbound from start to finish. She is a master of her craft and well worth your time and money. Can't wait for the next part.... That's definitely the worst part. The waiting!

This book has it all!

Wow! This book has it all in spades. Intrigue and suspense. Cold brooding alpha male. Feisty independent female. And a ransom that needs paying. The storyline is exciting and sweeps you up into the thrilling world of Jericho and Indigo. I can’t wait for book #2 in this brilliant series. I listened to the audio version of this book which I highly recommend. Erin Mallon and Joe Arden are brilliant at bringing the characters to life!

Edge of my seat drama

Holy moly! The plot thickens. That should be my final sentence, but I’m still reeling from that ending. I need to get this review done so I can start listening to book 2. That right there is why I wait until the whole trilogy is released. I’m incapable of waiting. It is however worth waiting for, because as with everything Meghan March, the story is brilliant. Lots of twists and turns and chemistry between the main characters that is off the charts. The two main characters, Jericho Forge, sexy, alpha billionaire, sworn to never be a slave to a woman, and, India Baptiste, a strong, sexy and independent woman who doesn’t want a man in her life. Sadly India finds herself having to ask for help when her sister finds herself in a rather unfortunate situation. Turning to Forges’s arch enemy she finds herself caught between a rock and a hard place. It was obvious that things weren’t quite as simple as I thought, I didn’t know Forge’s endgame, I also questioned myself as to the credibility of other characters in the story and I’m left not knowing who to trust, which is exactly the predicament our heroine finds herself in. Book 2, I’m sure will answer many questions, but I’m betting I get a whole other groups of questions that will need answering by the end of it. Anyway, I can’t spend all my time writing this review. All you need to know is, the writing, story, characters and narration are all brilliant. I’m completely addicted. I need to get some answers, book 2 here I come.

Annoying

The female narration in this is beyond annoying. I dont know if she is trying to be deliberately husky but it just ruins the actual story.

Awful narration, greedy author, terrible story

I’m generally reluctant to give a really negative review, however this book just made a mockery of the money I’ve spent on the audio.

The narration was awful, every single word is over dramatised and elongated, to the point I stopped listening a few months ago because it was like constantly watching a scene on repeat from the young and the restless. Then I decided, with only a few of hours in the book and it being too late for a refund, I would give it another go...

Which brings me to the second problem. Nothing happens. It’s so full of promise in the beginning, kidnapped sister, crazy /hot / alpha- millionaires butting heads over you.. but seriously, there is hours of her flitting between being so scared for her sisters life that she’ll do anything to get money to save her, intertwined with how turned on she could be if she was ever with a man like that.. erg.

Which leads into my third and final problem - it’s not a stand alone book. It went for over 5 hours and the story just stopped... as though that was the end of the first part of the trilogy. There is no ‘End’. I am truly shitty at spending 15 bucks on a terribly read half-book that gave me no resolution whatsoever, and went for 5 hours. This is not the lord of the ring people!

Just be aware, this isn’t a book you’re purchasing, it is the first third of a book, and I’m SO not prepared to spend 45 on this short trilogy when I can get better and complete stories out there that give me 18hours of listening time. Sorry guys

Can't wait for book 2!

I enjoyed listening to the narration of Deal with The Devil. I would give the male narrator 5 stars, and the female narrator 4. I found the male narrator's POV flowed really well and was just a little more enjoyable to listen to - it didn't feel like he was reading from a script. I still enjoyed the rest of it though, it was an enjoyable book to listen to.

Female narrator too much

I could not connect with the female narrator, which in turn made the book uninteresting and hard to listen too.

Wow

I waited for the whole series to come out before reading this series. So glad I did, I would have been pulling my hair out waiting for the next book in the series if I hadn’t. Just loved how they show each other how to love. An interfering father. Non loyal staff members and a revenge that didn’t need to be. Actioned packed.
Narration was awesome too.

Completely engaging

I listened to this in a day travelling rurally - best car trip for work yet! Female narrator had a slightly exaggerated drawl that at times was annoying yet she did a great job with male voice. The story line was engaging and the build-up between the two main characters had me on a hook. Sensual and sultry. I can’t believe the book ended at that point and I have to wait for next instalment. I will look forward to it!
Megan March seems to write books in very short instalments and turn series into a trilogy. Seems a bit cheeky (of Meghan or publisher)- each book could be longer and divided even into two books instead of three ... although I will buy the next one.
