my introduction to David sedaris.....it was laugh out loud funny. great way to start the day.

Laughing out loud

I never fail to feel better and actually laugh out loud, no matter what my mood, after listening to David Sedaris. It's not just his voice - a pleasant monotone with a slightly nasal New York accent. It's not just his delivery - a slightly sarcastic, mocking, yet self deprecating and appreciative look at his merry band of unusual yet loveable family, friends and acquaintances. It is mostly his ability to help us laugh (out loud!) at ourselves, reflecting back to us the realization that we and our own families, friends and acquaintances are just crazy, funny, unusual and loveable. Thank you David!

Hilarious

I love David’s writing but listening to him tell his stories is way better! His delivery is just comedic perfection!

You WILL laugh out loud

The only cautionary tale I have is if you happen to listed to this while driving...because you WILL laugh at his essays. He is a total riot. I have loved everything I've even read/heard by him.

David Sedaris is a Fantastic Live

I'm a fan of Davis Sedaris, but I didn't truly fall in love with his work until I heard his live performance of it. His stories come alive with his inflection and nuance. I highly recommend both this reading of his stories AND seeing him live.

It's as if you're at the performance. Complete with applause and questions from the audience. Sedaris is the only one who should ever read his work!

There were times we were laughing so hard that we couldn't breathe or see. Watch your driving.

Bring an Extra Pair of Pants

David Sedaris is a top notch comedian and a master of comic timing. This is actually my first exposure to his work even though I have heard much talk of how excellent it is. Midway through this audio book I realized I am addicted and began downloading "Me Talk Pretty One Day".
