David Sedaris
In Naked, Sedaris turns the mania for memoir on its ear, mining the exceedingly rich terrain of his life, his family, and his unique worldview-a sensibility at once take-no-prisoners sharp and deeply charitable.
A tart-tongued mother does dead-on imitations of her young son's nervous tics to the great amusement of his teachers; a stint of Kerouackian wandering is undertaken (of course!) with a quadriplegic companion; a family gathers for a wedding in the face of imminent death.
Through it all is Sedaris's unmistakably hilarious voice—without doubt one of the freshest in American writing.
“If you’re looking for some comic relief, look no further than David Sedaris.” ―NPR

What made the experience of listening to Naked the most enjoyable?
The narratorWhat other book might you compare Naked to and why?
It's hard to compare David Sedaris to anyone.Have you listened to any of David Sedaris and Amy Sedaris ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have all of his books, and audio books. I can't imagine anyone else reading his works. Her has a wonderful voice, and great comedic timing.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me laugh, and it had beautifully heart breaking moments, followed by David's sense of humor that brought levity to the sad, sometimes depressing moments. This book is about a real persons life after all. How can you not have moments both up and down?Any additional comments?
He has a way of making the mundane momentous, and the weird and unusual seem completely normal and acceptable. It's always funny, and a bit sad at times, but I find I walk away learning something about myself by the time the book ends. As far as I'm concerned that says more about David Sedaris' books than any review I could give.Fabulous Listen

Would you listen to Naked again? Why?
No. Good listen once, but more serious material than usual. What did you like best about this story?
The interweaving of dialogue as performed by Sedaris and his sister. What about David Sedaris and Amy Sedaris ’s performance did you like?
I usually prefer listening to David solo, but use of Amy's voice really enhanced these essays. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Don't want to be a spoiler, but there more bittersweet moments in these tales than David generally delivers.Satisfying Sedaris Essays, but Fewer Belly Laughs
