About this listen

All stories come to an end, and thankfully this one is very cozy.

In the final installment of Dark Lord of the Farmstead, find out what becomes of the Stillwater family. Mild spoilers: it's wholesome.

As Gray continues to take care of his family every way he can, while also juggling politics every now and then, Narya is planning a birthday surprise for her husband. Kaya is still coming to grips with what she's become, but Meeko has a plan--and a quest--to help her. It involves some monsters, some fishing, and a healthy dose of adventure.

Level up in this final installment of Dark Lord of the Farmstead. Try not to get too sniffly!

This is such a great series!
I like that the focus is slowly moving more to the daughters and their adventures and trials but still has their parents continuing as MCs.
Things seem to be going well and so there's probably something big just over the horizon.
Looking forward to the next book.
I'm giving this book 8.5 out of 5 stars.

Dark Lord of the Farmstead 4

Life continues on for the Stillwater family. Gray has an eye on a new mine to explore. Narya has a plan for an epic birthday celebration. Kayla is coping with her new reality and Meeko has a quest to help with that. There is still one last tale to tell from the Bright Lord’s farmstead.

I would rank this cozy litrpg right up there towards the top! The adventures and quests are heartwarming. As a father, I found myself relating with Gray so often. While I am sad to see the series end, I feel better for spending my time with the Stillwaters. Jonathan Waters and Jessica Threet do a fantastic job as narrators. Plus, I have to praise Jessica for her singing in this series!

Content warning: none

Right, I forgot for a moment that the uncompromising optimism is a family trait I guess.

It gets pretty sappy at times but it's always been like that, so if you ate it up in books 1-3 you should enjoy it here. For the most part it seems like all subplots are tied up in a nice little bow. In places it feels like the author was very conscious about this, like he was checking it off a list, but it makes for a pretty complete experience. I just re-listened to books 2 and 3.

It's a bit sad to know that this is probably the last book in the series (the author posted this on Facebook). Still, at least he completed it. He had me worried for a while. Thanks, John. I am looking forward to your next series. This is one of my favorite cozy books right up there with I Ran Away From Evil. I also really liked Soulstone Bakery.

A fitting and very wholesome end to the series

One of my main gripes the previous books was the kind of lack of action until the final couple chapters. this book had a bit more going on all the way throughout. Good story happy wrap up

A little bit more action
