The New York Times bestselling Queen of Twists returns…
with a family reunion that leads to murder.

After years of avoiding each other, Daisy Darker’s entire family is assembling for Nana’s 80th birthday party in Nana’s crumbling gothic house on a tiny tidal island. Finally back together one last time, when the tide comes in, they will be cut off from the rest of the world for eight hours.

The family arrives, each of them harboring secrets. Then at the stroke of midnight, as a storm rages, Nana is found dead. And an hour later, the next family member follows…

Trapped on an island where someone is killing them one by one, the Darkers must reckon with their present mystery as well as their past secrets, before the tide comes in and all is revealed.

With a wicked wink to Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None, Daisy Darker’s unforgettable twists will leave listeners reeling.

“Wow! Echoes of Christie's And Then There Were None but turned into something wonderfully original and wrapped in a genuinely creepy dysfunctional family fairy-tale of a novel, this takes Feeney to the next level. I LOVED IT!”
—Sarah Pinborough, bestselling author of Behind Her Eyes and Insomnia

I read the reviews, the book sounded so good. But it was very predictable, characters that were low level pond scum, stereotypically written. When someone died the family didn't really show remorse but stood around the body lying in the kitchen and talked about whether the police should be called. Accident? Murder? I will never find out as I had to stop listening with impatience due to the banal blather of the other characters. The narrator was good! so at least that kept me listening for a few hours before I flipped the off switch ....

Dead person on floor - family stood around talking

This is a slow burn of a story. If you’re wanting fast-paced, this will annoy you. But it’s good writing and good narration and I felt like the ending was awesome.

Ending is good!

And I will miss Daisy and the lovely voice that has kept me such wonderful communication company! Such a great story!

Interesting variation of Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None". Inevitable, but very unique, twist at the end. Excellent narration.

Wow factor

I got so wrapped up in the book. I listened to it almost nonstop. I found myself wanting to know “then what!” Over and over again. Absolutely loved it!!

Wish I could listen to it again!

For fans of Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None" or the film "Knives out" this is a win. The language is craftily rendered in a way that keeps one guessing while also feeling a bit like they are reading a pile of fortune cookies.

Beautifully written.

I don't know it was the reader or the story, but I had a difficult time getting invested. I'm happy I stuck with it, it was a good ending.
