Publisher's summary

THE #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

“Told in rotating points of view, this Tilt-A-Whirl of a novel brims with jangly tension – an undeniably engrossing guessing game.”Vogue

"[A] clever, cliff-hanger-filled thriller."People

From the New York Times bestselling author of The Guest List comes a new locked room mystery, set in a Paris apartment building in which every resident has something to hide…

Jess needs a fresh start. She’s broke and alone, and she’s just left her job under less than ideal circumstances. Her half-brother Ben didn’t sound thrilled when she asked if she could crash with him for a bit, but he didn’t say no, and surely everything will look better from Paris. Only when she shows up – to find a very nice apartment, could Ben really have afforded this? – he’s not there.

The longer Ben stays missing, the more Jess starts to dig into her brother’s situation, and the more questions she has. Ben’s neighbors are an eclectic bunch, and not particularly friendly. Jess may have come to Paris to escape her past, but it’s starting to look like it’s Ben’s future that’s in question.

The socialite – The nice guy – The alcoholic – The girl on the verge – The concierge

Everyone's a neighbor. Everyone's a suspect. And everyone knows something they’re not telling.

OMG!

Since I first read The Guest List I was hooked. The way Lucy tells a story I couldn’t get enough! I then read all her other books and saw this one coming out soon. I re ordered and read/ listened to it in a day. Soooo good. If you like a real mystery told so perfectly, you must read this book and all her others!

Too many voices and storylines

It was hard to get into this book because written in too many perspectives and hard to follow/connect to characters. The twists were over the top and also too many. Not a fan of this book.

An incredible listen!

Each character so thoughtfully and well read. The story line is outstanding and unusual, in the best way. I couldn’t wait to get back to the story every time I had to leave it. Thank you Lucy Foley for another wonderful, provocative listen.

Another Foley Another Fave

Foley has a knack for spins & twists. The narration is good, the writing is fantastic, & the storyline top shelf!

Enjoyable

For my first audio book experience I’m very pleased. Well written, well performed, and interesting to the last chapter. As others have stated about the author, you can tell there is an influence from Agatha Christie’s works, but this was modern and refreshing.

Narration is great! Ending genius

I just loved the narrators. The voice of Mimi was my favorite. Loved when she spoke. The way everything comes together is genius. And her descriptions of the apartment building are outstanding. It’s like you are there. It’s my third Lucy Foley book and I think my favorite

Loved the last hour or so.

It took a while to get into. There were some twist which made the story interesting. At times I wanted to skip ahead to the ending just to find out what happened. The last hour was good, very good.
