Publisher's Summary

Kennedy Bennett comes from a long line of curse weavers. For centuries, her family has plied their trade in Unstable, Massachusetts, an unconventional small town that's welcomed paranormal practitioners since the dawn of spiritualism. Kennedy has recently struck out on her own, opening an antiques shop in Boston, where her specialty is uncursing and reselling hexed objects.

Then Aiden Connolly walks into her life with an offer she really should refuse. The scion of a wealthy family of luck workers, Aiden has a scheme to get his hands on the most famous cursed object of all: the mythical Necklace of Harmonia. He's not the only one after the necklace, though. And he's not the only one looking for a curse weaver to fix it. Kennedy's sisters are kidnapped, and she finds herself plunged into the underbelly of the magical world where even Aiden is in over his head.

Holy moly, buckle up buttercup

Ok, I’ll be honest, I didn’t hold much hope for this to be anything special. Even though Kelley Armstrong is one of my top 25 authors, I was actually worried that I’d bite into a 10+ hour brand new series and find out that it was going to be a candy coated turd, which would lead me to being at least $14.99 worth of upset (plus taxes). However, I started it and couldn’t stop. I even told my husband to go fishing or at least do something outside my general hearing while I finished it so it would be uninterrupted. On a serious note, it was funny, smart and creative. There were even moments where it was unpredictable. I really hope the next one comes out quick enough that I don’t have to start getting antsy enough to explore other books, which can be a real struggle. If you like wit, subtle hints of potential romance and Greek Mythology then this is for you. If you don’t, well then I guess you just wasted about two minutes of your life that you’ll never get back by reading my review.

So good!

I absolutely loved the new characters and their intriguing gifts. The worrld-building was just as grand as you would expect from this author, and the narration was excellent. Can't wait for the next book!

A little disappointed.

I'm usually a big fan of Kelley Armstrong's books. However, this is my least favourite book of hers.

I think the story is good and that made me want to finish the book. What got in the way of my enjoying it was mostly the dialouge which felt very repetitive and stiff. It made me dislike the characters a little bit to be honest. What was obviously meant to be playful banter came off as ridiculus, and not in a good way. Some of this was probably the result of an awful narrator. Her reading of the book was very deadpan instead of bringing the book and it's characters to life.

Because of the story I hope that this book gets a sequel, hopefully a little bit better written. But if tha narrator is the same, I'll get a physical copy instead.

Boring and Ridiculous Storyline

Took forever to get into the book. It took me THREE tries and I almost returned it. I used to like Kelley Armstrong, but this was nothing like her other books. I don’t recommend unless you like to listen to main character go on and on and on about mundane things.

Not so good

I couldn't even finish it. It became too blah. Starts out well, but fizzles out.

Second half lost me

I enjoyed the story, mostly. The second half of the book lost me. It felt like you needed to come in with background to fully follow and that frustrated me. Overall, a good book, but not sure I’d get the next in series

Fun, fabulous, Armstrong at her Best

A great start to a new series of fun urban fantasy with strong women. I’m eagerly awaiting the next book. I feel as much joy as when I first read Bitten back in the year it was published.

Enjoyably

Narration was good and the story reminded me of the otherworld. (I miss the Otherworld). Worth the time and the credit

absolutely excellent!

Really enjoyed this new book by Kelley Armstrong. Not once did I get bored or find my attention wandering, it kept me hooked from start to finish.
As usual she creates a world and characters who are believable and realistic. Truly a pleasure.

A great, fun, gripping story.

A great concept. Kelley Armstrong does her usual of creating characters you care about and can laugh with & a story that grips & intrigues you. I listened to it all in 2 days & will listen again, probably soon.
