Publisher's summary

Ash’s life is anything but normal these days.

Having discovered his Dao, he’s grown in power. Grown to the point that others are now aware of him and that he could be a danger.

In this world of martial arts, only the strong and the ruthless survive. Everyone else is merely a stepping stone on their path of Cultivation or an obstacle to be overcome—or knocked down. It’s a world where the strong rule and the weak die.

Utilizing the Hall, the voice in his head that calls itself Locke, those who have aligned with his faction, and all the powers available to him, Ash has begun his own journey of Cultivation.

Except that as a Fated One, his journey is a narrow and winding path between two cosmic forces. Each one vying for dominance.

That doesn’t even take into account the prison he's been sent to by the Emperor. Except he's not going to stay there very long if he can help it. That or take it over completely.

This is his fourth step in his life as a Cultivator.

Another great story!

I am really enjoying these characters! I would still rather have a different narrator, but Stephanie is growing on me. Most of her voices are ok, but a few are like nails on a chalkboard. The story just keeps getting better! Can’t wait to hear more!

Finally the 4th book continues

I love this series. I’m going to rate this 4.5 star and rated amongst the the other books the other 3 so far. So this was my least fav however I still enjoyed it immensely and I’m still going to devour the next. I feel most issues there was would have been as simple to take care of if the book was longer but since it ended when it did it’s easier for me to complain about the pacing of the writing or to wrap on the amount of flirting etc. But I love the wives and everything it’s just felt there was a little to much missing so it’s easy to pick something to rage against that and the fact there was no Andrea Parsnau. Seriously though they couldn’t have found a better person to follow such an impossible role. She’s so good that if she had been the one to start the series that Andrea would’ve had the same challenge following here. But she didn’t. Regardless towards the end it didn’t bother me so much. So fantastic job ms Savvhahna.
Hope next book comes out soon

Good book, questionable performance

Why did the narrator sound like she was randomly gargling cotton balls? It was definitely jarring from previous narrations and I am not sure if it was just a bad choice by the narrator or a worse choice on the editors part. otherwise a good story as usual, though I think I am going to stick to text for the next one if it's the same narrator.

great book

The continuing adventures of Ash Sheng were definitely enjoyable to listen to. The change of narrators was a little jarring at first but once I was fully immersed in the story that faded away and she did a great job.

Great continuation of the story.

Very entertaining continuation of the previous book. Ash and team head to the Emperor's prison. Lots of folks being told to remember this moment, then the inevitable smackdown.

No truly explicit material in this book. There is talk and situations but no descriptive adult scenes, which I'm grateful for.

Very much looking forward to the next book.

Review of books 1-4

Book 1 - The story is pretty good, but the author keeps repeating Chosen one and remember this moment way way too much. If it wasn’t for this I’d rate book 1 as 5 stars
Book 2 - Again the story was pretty good. Again the author repeat the phrases too much. It was annoying beyond belief.
Book 3 - The harem side starts to come into play. Not my favorite aspect of the series. Otherwise, the story is decent. The author lightens up on repeating the phrases. Still gets annoying.
Book 4 - The story degrades a bit more with the harem side taking up more of the story. To give the author some credit, the harem side is not as graphic as some other books I’ve read.
Overall, I do like the story. I dislike the MC really isn’t the fighter his harem women do most of the fighting. The MC fights are somehow OP without him really cultivating. Locke is the one who cultivates for him. Book 4 leaves me with mixed emotions about the series. I’m not a big fan of harem series and this is my fault for not understanding what kind of book series this is. Cover art was a big hint but I was a bit slow on the up take. In my defense, the cover art on the first two books was misleading. The author needs to stop using those phrases so much.
