Publisher's Summary

Love is the ultimate outlaw.

Although widowed attorney Hope Kendall cares deeply for president of the Lost Kings MC, Rochlan "Rock" North, the truth is they come from completely different worlds. Add to that the fact that they are also both headstrong people, and they have a very rough road ahead of them.

Real love isn't a fairy tale.

For Rock that means introducing Hope to what it really means to be part of his brutal and shady world, where the Lost Kings Motorcycle Club is his main focus. For Hope it means accepting the things she can't change and understanding that Rock is a man who will do anything to keep her safe.

Love doesn't follow any rules.

As Rock continues to draw Hope deeper into his world, painful misunderstandings, past relationships, and opposition from the members of his club will threaten to drive them apart. How do a lawyer and a badass biker with a heart of gold keep their love alive while their opposing worlds collide?

Contains mature themes.

Loved the audio

Instead of rereading series while waiting for Autumn's next book release I decided to give audio a try. I loved it. Autumn Jones Lake is an awesome writer and I really enjoyed how the narrators brought Rock and Hope to life.

More Like a Teen Trash Novel. Characters Immature

I started the series with Slow Burn because the description sounded ok. The first bit was okay enough for me to want to listen to the next book. But after getting into the first couple of chapters of Corrupting Cinderella I see that the entire premise of the series is just a long, drawn out high school drama with the same old trope - you know the one I'm talking about: "straight laced good girl falls for badass womanising biker who is mesmerised by how cute and innocent she is. They come from two different worlds, will they last as a couple?"
UGH, give me a break!!!
Corrupting Cinderella seems to be a never ending tale about the female lead having run-ins with the male leads former conquests - or "sk@nk @ss b*tches" as the female lead refers to them and the male lead getting ridiculously jealous of any other man in the vicinity. It's not sexy or entertaining. I often forgot that the female lead is supposed to be 33 and the male 38 because the characters come across as horribly immature. All of the background characters are one dimensional and more like caricatures of underworld figures. I will be asking for my credit back.

Another great installment for Rock and Hope!!

I loved this second installment of the Lost Kings MC! Rock and Hope's story and all the action, angst and suspense surrounding them and their MC family make for truly compelling reading and listening. Troy Duran and Noelle Bridges knock it out of the park again with their narration!

I will say, as fascinating and engrossing as the story is, and as much as opposites do attract at times, it was often difficult for me to imagine someone like Hope, with no previous life experience in an MC, and no desire to take that life into herself and her personality, truly wanting to be with someone whose life *is* the MC. I know those doubts are expressed in the plot at various points, but it still nagged at me. I was especially put off with Hope being referred to as Rock's "old lady". It just made me cringe, although I began to get used to it, sort of. As much as I realize that is an honored position in the MC and conveys how much Hope means to Rock, it just doesn't seem to fit her at all. "Old lady" conveys a world-weariness to me, a sense that the MC has drained the life out of someone in that position after years of coping with all that it means to be in the MC, and Hope will never let that happen to her. Even with all she's been through so far, she remains strong and true to herself in the end.

I know I went off on a bit of a tangent there, but I think it illustrates how much I took the characters and story to heart, how invested I became. It is also a testament to how much Autumn Jones Lake can make her readers think about things, even in the midst of a steamy, sexy novel. There's more there than meets the eye, at least for me. Whatever your take on it, you will not be disappointed!

Corrupting Cinderella

Absolutely fantastic story. Rock and Hope have their differences but their love is stronger than their different worlds. This ride was thrilling, romantic, and heartfelt.
Noelle Bridges and Troy Duran are amazing narrators. I loved Troy’s voice, he truly became Rock.

can't do anymore

I was waiting for the grit to come out and for rock to harden up a little. but this is really just a love story that ambled along at its own pace. in fact it's just like the MC stands as a front for the simple contemporary romance that the author has written.
there are times that I feel I've got the gist of what the author is trying to tell. it's like the heroine is bringing a different approach as an old lady towards the club creating a new direction but in saying that I think rock needs to grow some big ones because he constantly lies to her and it comes around to bit him in the arse. this happens a lot of times in the 2 book and you can get away with it once or twice but for the last two books it just keeps happening. eyerroll moments...
I still think it's on the mild side for an MC club and for a president I think he has softened up way too much for the love of a woman.
I don't know if it's the author's intent to portray this in the storyline or whether it's just how I'm thinking, however I still can't get a grip on the heroines age of 33 and even though i know she's led a sheltered upright life, she's just too naive in my opinion.
This book still didn't have any twist or turns or angst and I really don't think I can do book 3 regardless of what the dust cover says, and quite often the dust cover has peaked more interest from me than the book itself so I'm thinking of going to have to leave it here.
if any of you like a light MC book read and a total steamy love driven book then have a listen but if you like a little bit of angst some twists and some turns and maybe a faster pace this is one that's not for you.
if you looove troys voice he may very well sway you.
