Publisher's Summary

Repairman Jack, F. Paul Wilson’s vigilante hero first seen in the New York Times best seller The Tomb, returns in a thriller that thrusts Jack back into the weird, supernatural world that he thrives in. Looking for clues to the mysterious disappearance of leading conspiracy theorist Melanie Ehler, Jack attends a convention of bizarre and avid conspiracy theorists. It’s a place where aliens are real, the government is out to get you, and the world is hurtling toward an inevitable war of good versus evil incarnate.

Jack finds that nobody can be trusted - and that few people are what they seem. Worse yet, Jack’s been having vivid dreams that make him wonder whether he’s headed for a clash with his own past - maybe The Tomb’s evil rakoshi beasts aren’t through with him quite yet.

I'm done with Repairman Jack

I Jack has "lost me." I recognize and appreciate Wilson's imagination, but Jack has lost his sense of humor ... and all connection to reality. This story has several cons I can't get past:

1. Very violent. Yes, I know they've all been violent, but this one seemed to go into overdrive.

2. Waaay too many coincidences. Wilson got away with them (IMHO) until this book. I experienced entirely too many "Wait... what?" moments.

3. I get that these books are dark, but this one is unrelenting. Jack's sense of humor is gone (it's the only way I can describe it.) This book takes itself VERY seriously.

Then... it just ended. There was no conclusion - no tying up of loose ends - no sense of completion. It just stopped. And when I thought, "What am I willing to endure in order to find out what happens next?" the answer was, "Nothing."

Repairman Jack is a great character whose potential is squandered in favor of boogymen and blood.

Kooks, freaks, geeks, and Oh yeah....Jack

Would you listen to Conspiracies again? Why?

Yes. I love sensible Jack having to go undercover as an alien abduction "experiencer" to solve his case. The truth is so much stranger than anyone realizes.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Conspiracies?

When the Christian woman makes him hold a cross in his hand to prove that he is not in league with the Devil and it takes every ounce of self-control that Jack has to not roll around on the floor and pretend to be in extreme pain. I love his boyish sense of humor.

What about Christopher Price’s performance did you like?

When the narrator does good, I get so caught up in the story that I don't even think about their performance.

Any additional comments?

Great series. Start with "The Tomb" and keep going. Thank you Audible for bringing all the Repairman Jack series to us loyal members.

Did not realize it was science fiction

Listen to the first on the series and enjoyed it. It had been 5 or 6 years ago. I had recalled I liked the first book. There must have been but I did not recall the sci fi portion of the book. I thought I would be listening to a mystery and hence I was disappointed. The narrator was good.

Little bump in the road...I hope

What did you like best about Conspiracies? What did you like least?

I was a bit disappointed with this entry into the Repairman Jack series. Although it was certainly entertaining enough to finish and had lots of quirky characters that was also the problem. Too many characters and not enough development. It even ended with a bit of a thunk. One way I measure my satisfaction with a book is "how did I feel about the characters", love them or hate them. Frankly I didnt feel much toward any of them in this book. A Tesla creation was at the center of story but thinly explored and ultimately I didnt mind the story being over.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

The narrator is ok, at times it does seem he's just reading the book rather than becoming the characters as the great readers do (I started this series out of order so Dick Hill was the first reader I listened to, and he is among my favorites).

Any additional comments?

I think you could skip this volume and read later ones without missing much.

I love repairman jack and the books keep getting better and better as the story goes on. It feels like a noir written by lovecraft

Another Gr8 1 !

F.P.W has done it again with Conspiracies featuring my all time favorite character, RMJ! This is the 3rd time I've listened to it. I've read and purchased the book as well. For ME, it's that good! I also love the narrator/narration for the series!
I wonder if Mr. Wilson has thought about doing a rewrite, to allow updates to the conspiracies mentioned, and also to include those in our current events?

Rmj is the best

Just jack. He will warm your hart and tear out the ones that come close to hurting his and the ones he loves. The best combination of supernatural and thriller and kick ass off the grid fixit guy. Not the appliance type of repairs. If you have a problem and no one else can help you. Call repairman jack.
If you are a fan of the nowhere man you will love jack. He is the original fix it guy. Good in his core bad to all that get on his way.

Another fun one

Engaging fun adventure. Christopher Price is great as he reads a story that is fun and kind of random.

I’m Loving Repairman Jack

I’m so book wormy HAPPY! While desperately searching for something new to read I came across a random recommendation for the Repairman Jack books on a forum. So glad I did.

These first 3 books have been a joy to listen to and I’m already completely invested in the recurrent characters and the weird otherworldly mystery Jack is becoming more and more embroiled in.

I intend to spend the next month or two totally ‘binge listening’ every one of these books. In fact my only problem now is that my yearly book credit allowance will easily be used up months before it’s due for renewal and I’ll have to buy loads of extra credits lol. Say thanks to F. Paul Wilson Audible!

If, like me, you like Dresden & Orphan X then I think you’ll fall for the irrepressible Repairman Jack too.

Paul F. Wilson does it again

Book by book I’m being drawn deeper and deeper into this incredible, expansive mythology as the battle between good and evil heats up. Seriously, I cannot recommend these books enough and in particular, conspiracies. If the reader is looking for a intelligent mix between sci-fi, horror and thriller then they’ve definitely come to the right place. Sit back, turn the lights down and join Jack as he battles an entity book by book intent on destroying life as we know it.
