Publisher's Summary

I'm a fighter.
At least that’s what my daddy always told me.
It’s in our blood.

Hard work, hustle, and a little Hennessey is the Reid motto.
He taught me to fight for everything I wanted in life.
Take down those who threaten the dream.

My dream is to marry the perfect man.
That man is my father’s best friend and I won’t stop until I have him.
And at Daddy’s wedding in Costa Rica, I plan to make that dream finally come true.
Then, my life will be smooth sailing.

Until a chance flight with an arrogant pilot throws me off course.
Literally.
Camilo’s decisions affect my future, and I can’t allow anything—not even a cocksure, ridiculously hot idiot—to stand in my way.

Problem is, he fights back.
Every battle I’ve won in life, he shoots down and exposes me for the fraud I am. Trapped in paradise with my devilishly handsome nemesis seems like one of the seven circles of Hell...and, boy, is it getting hot around here.

He'll strip me of my armor.
Remind me of my past.
Force me to rethink my future.
And help me live in the moment.
Will he steal my heart, too?

One thing's for sure.
This girl won't give up without a fight.

White privilege at its worst

I had to take a pass on this one. I have enjoyed this author’s other books and the narrators were terrific. I don’t know if this is just a sign of the times right now, but I was extremely appalled by the personality of the main character of the story. I completely understand when we have an imperfect character who grows over the course of the book but I just could not get past the first couple of chapters to even get to a point of character development showing personal growth.

Not really good, DNF

I've read/listened multiple books by K Webster and this is the first one I'm not really liking.
I was a bit unsure about it since the h was headed to Costa Rica and that is where I'm from and as a Spanish speaker I tend to stay away of books using Spanish as most of the times is really bad and I find it supper offensive. Just because the book is English doesn't mean Spanish speaker readers are not going to be able to read it/listen to it, hence authors don't do an effort beyond google translate, which by the way is super inaccurate. My English might no be really good but I don't put it in books and sell it to people, the least an author should do is actually check with a native Spanish speaker and from the country the are using, as it changes a lot depending on the country.
I've listened a bit over an hour, the little Spanish that has been used and is not that bad, but is definitely not good.
The accent in English for the Spanish speaking characters I find a bit offensive, a Lot of latinos/latinas have very good accents, in this book is almost like making fun of Spanish speakers. Maybe reading the book would have been a better experience because this narrators are not doing a good job.
But what I dislike the most is the h. Sheridan is the worst h possible, there is nothing so far likable about her, she is a complete b*tch, she is the typical rich girl that thinks is better than anyone else, for over an hour I've been listening to this horrible person complaint about everything, I guess eventually she will change but she is so awful I really don't care I just want someone to punch her. My stop point was when the h was extremely rude to H's mom, and I can't find a liking to anyone that treats employees of any kind of business the way she did. But most of all his mom, that is hard no for me, there is no possible excuse to defend her attitude, even if she didn't know who she was.
This is a DNF for me, I can't deal with it any more, I like the author and don't know what happened here but I'd like to keep reading her books, and forget even she tried this.

I don’t know how I even finished this one

I was so excited for some diversity...The main characters were terrible, Sheridan was a perfect Karen. And how can a man allow a woman to disrespect his mom so much. In my book he is a pendejo, I would have been okay with them not ending up together. Her personality was horrible and if anyone ever spoke to my mom like that she would be in eating her own words!! All the Spanish characters were submissive, slaves and she never once apologized for her cruelty. Yet if a small thing was done to her people apologized... The women were either “rude, hoes, or total subs. I am annoyed, disgusted and utterly disappointed!!!!

Not even Maxine can save this

I love Maxine Mitchell but not even her narration can save this horrible stereotyped story. DNF, I don’t care how it ends, the female lead Sheridan is completely unsympathetic.

Seven chapters were too long to deal with Sheridan.

The female lead character was horrible to everyone. If there was any character development and or information as to why she treats people that way, I could not stick around to witness. It is a shame because I really liked most of the other characters.

3.5 stars

For much of this book, I really didn't like Sheridan. It was off and on, she would have her moments, but I think by the end, she lands in the 'Not Liked' category. Now, even with that said, I loved her story. I'm all for the spoiled rich girl getting taken down a peg or two. But Sheridan fell from her pedestal, not by someone pulling her down, but rather by her becoming aware of herself. And I really appreciated that. She came into her own, realized that she wasn't a great person, and did her best to change that.

I loved pretty much all of the side characters, and the interactions that they had with each other. I want to go back and read Carter's story, and would love to see the others get their own as well.

Just okay...

3 stars!

Cocksure Ace written by K. Webster is a spin off of Playboy Pilot by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward. In this story we meet Sheridan Reid. She is a only child and has grown up spoiled by her father. He has had to bring her up on his own when his wife passed away. Sheridan was obnoxious at times and a bit of a spoiled brat. There was a hardness to her that was hard to warm up to. Camilo is taken with Sheridan immediately. They spark something in each other and there is instant attraction.
Slowly but surely Camilo breaks down Sheridan’s walls and it was a beautiful ending. This story is super steamy and sexy and a good addition to the cocky hero world.

Although parts of the story was lacking I enjoyed the narration done by Maxine Mitchell and Gomez Pugh.

The Latino lover you have been dreaming about

This was spicy, witty, and cute whipped together with a storm. The characters were well developed and individually interesting. The story itself I didn’t find boring at any point, nor rushed. It was all well put together and I truly enjoyed every part! Listen to this one for sure.

Camilo and Sheridan

A cute, charming, entertaining, and steamy journey to go on with Sheridan and Camilo. I will be absolutely honest and say that Sheridan was hard to relate to at the beginning, she was way too judgmental, over the top, and just plain rude. I adored how Camilo came into her life and changed her into someone she had inside of herself all along. I enjoyed this book.
Narration was Fantastic!
