Hero Club
Alexa Purdy has sworn off men, and he’s her worst nightmare.
Arrogant and flirtatious, and now International Airlines’ newest pilot, Jake Campbell has a panty-dropping smile and a body to match. But he’s no match for Alexa’s cold heart.
Plagued by a bad reputation and a bitter divorce, Alexa is determined to make a name for herself outside of the bedroom. As International Airlines’ only female pilot she’s had to work twice as hard and she won’t let someone like Jake bring her down.
But she’s surprised to find he’s nothing like she expected him to be. Even more surprising is her growing attraction to him and his obvious attraction to her - an attraction that causes her to question whether swearing off men is such a good idea after all.
But when Jake’s past resurfaces, she realizes getting close to him may be her biggest mistake of all.

Two parts took a full star away for me.
1. The h runs from the H when she comes across a situation that infers that he has done something wrong without getting his side. That is always a frustration and is a sign of immaturity in the character.
The head-slap part for me is when the h tells our H that if she knew about said situation in the beginning, she would never have given him a chance!
2. The bulk of the last couple of hours was taken up by male/female pay disparity. It is an important issue and must be corrected; however, it took up nearly 25% of the story and, at times, felt more like a rant instead of the story. Cut the time dedicated in half and it would have been just as meaningful.
I will definitely read other books from the author.
Excellent Story

Why would any author use the name Alexa in any audio book. It was very annoying because my Alexa would respond. I don’t need to be Lectured about feminist during a book that I would’ve liked to enjoy
Too much Feminist opinions

It's not just the off-putting start. His behaviour is not consistent with the way his character is protrayed the rest of the book. For example, why does he defend her when others are talking about her in the same way he treated her at first?
Maybe I'm just disappointed because I had higher expectations. Was looking forward to a real book about a strong female lead working in a male dominated industry. I wanted to see more of her badassery, not just be told about it in passing. I like the idea behind the flight school and the pay gap fight but it seemed a bit forced, like things just didn't quite gel together as well as they could have. That's the general feeling I get from this book, like something is amiss but I can't quite put my finger on it.
Not quite right

1. The first interaction between the hero and heroine... what the hero said was weird and not congruent with his personality in the rest of the book. He said super elicit sex stuff to her right off the bat. Which would be “ok” if he said that to all the women, but he doesn’t. Plus it’s super disrespectful (which I expect from a cocky bastard) and doesn’t go with his personality in the rest of the book, where he confronts others for being disrespectful.
2. The guy is holding back a secret that will obviously cause big drama later when found out. But if he told it immediately, it could’ve been dealt with and been just a minor bump in the road. The secret is that he’s married.
3. When the hero’s wife shows up unexpectedly ( but expectedly to us) she wants to get back together with him. But then she finally agrees to sign the divorce papers, that she has been putting off for a year, bc she’s in love with another man. Makes no sense.
4. Oh, and when the heroine sees the wife, of course she runs and doesn’t let him explain himself. She doesn’t even know if this woman is a psycho or if she is really even his wife. Instead of hearing him out for one second, she leaves. Instead of blocking his number, she just ignores him.
5. And what’s up with this whole “pay inequality “ plot that was smushed in there? The way it was dealt with felt ...forced?
6. The two jerks of the story didn’t get any punishment.
If you can suspend common sense, then this book is for you.

Male voice actor was okay. Female trying to mimic the male's Aussie accent was atrocious. Hard pass from me.
CRINGY
