The inside zone is the most-run blocking scheme at the professional, collegiate, and high school levels. This is due to its simple rules and multiple applications. By keeping the rules very simple, the offensive line is able to master the concept. This allows linemen to spend valuable practice time working on the specific skills they need to master their role.
The rules for the offensive line are simplified, which allows the skill players to be used to control and confuse the defense. This simple window dressing has the effect of making the offense look complicated, while the heart of the play never changes.

From a Defensive Guy
Coming from a defensive guy, I bought this book to better understand the progression of the inside zone. Also to try and get into the offensvie coordinator thought process when calling thos offense. This book is a steal for just that. Other ways this book could be used it to help offensive players understand the whole concept of the offensive play. Great book coming from the defensive guy who goes to the offensive clinics!
