More Lefanu on Audible, please!

The correct title of this early Lefanu short story is A Chapter in the History of A Tyrone Family. It was published as part of a collection of linked short stories titled The Purcell Papers and later reworked by the author into the full-length sensation novel The Wyvern Mystery, and is sometimes cited as a source for the gothic plot of Jane Eyre. The story itself is slight, but, as usual with Lefanu, it has some brilliantly chilling touches which make it very effective indeed.
I have to admit I did not expect much from the performer, but this is the second time Harrison has pleasantly surprised me with a short story. His voice for the villainess of the story was excellent! Perhaps I should give his recording of Lefanu's best-known novel Uncle Silas a try...
