About this listen

Children of Liberty, the much-anticipated prequel to Paullina Simons’ The Bronze Horseman, is a story of love and possibility in turn-of-the-century America.

Gina Attaviano travels from Sicily to Boston to start a new life with only the clothes on her back. Harry Barrington is the son of one of New England’s most successful businessmen. Despite their differences and the strong opposition of their families, their attraction is strong. Set against a time of transformation for a growing nation, Gina and Harry must find the courage to do what is right, no matter what the price.

Deeply emotional and satisfying, Children of Liberty features a cast of characters you’ll root for as they fight against their feelings, but discover that true love can never be denied.

Very much enjoyed her original trilogy and nice to go back to the beginning. I really liked this book but still feel the others were better written. At the end of the day, since i have read the others it is nice to get a fresh story that will tie two the Bronze Horseman and others. A very good read.

Enjoyed

The characters did not capture my attention as much as those in The Bronze Horseman, but it is interesting to see how everything begins.

Interesting Prequel

This book was OK. I enjoyed learning the backstory of Gina and Harry. However I was left hanging at the end and that was a disappointment. Also it didn’t have the… Intensity… Of the bronze Horsemen which absorbed me to the point that I could not put it down. This was more a labor of love for me, that I work through so that I can find the backstory which has not yet been completed.

Not the caliber oof the Bronze Horseman

If you are looking for the magic of the bronze horseman this is not it. Found it to be pretty boring

Not what i expected

I purchased this book because I really loved the Bronze Horseman. This book was horrendous. do not waste a credit or $ on this. The story lingers and I found no substance in it. Cannot believe this writer!

One of the worst

I was told this was a precursor to the Bronze Horseman trilogy. It has absolutely nothing to do with that series. It is not near as good as the trilogy and this book ends pretty miserably. I kept wishing it would hurry up and get better but it never did.

Weird
