sui sounds like a bad elmo impression

I love Campfire Cooking in all its other forms, but this audiobook is so grating I can't finish it. I can't stand how his voice for Sui is like a listening to a knock-off Elmo. I figured it would get better but noooope. Just stopped the audiobook halfway through, I can't go on, and this is coming after I struggled through the young Raphtalia voice in Shield Hero. Ugh!

Still has the repetition issue and the narrator's enunciation seems worse?

The main character keeps thinking his dialogue and then immediately saying it usually verbatim. It is very, very annoying.
The enunciation seems worse too. That along with Sui's awful voice made this a rough listen.

Boring and Annoying

It's literally just some dude cooking food for 80% of the book. I'm also not sure why every Japanese author thinks that Japanese food is the pinnacle of cuisine. In reality, it's fairly pedestrian at best and downright gross other times. We certainly don't need a blow-by-blow of someone cooking basic meals over and over again, which naturally everyone loves and are totally amazed that some guy can heat food up and dump bottled sauce on in it. The MCs constant whining over everything Fel does also gets old fast.

unfortunately I'm gonna stick with light novels, manga, and anime.

the performance didn't improve much. suis voice is grating and and I don't think you really need to read the word for the eating and drinking sounds. the voices have slightly improved but are still very flat. I wanted to enjoy but it's just not meant to be.
