Luckily for him, fate had a bit more to say. A world of magic, monsters, and other such life-shortening entities await his newly reincarnated self for a second shot at life. With nothing but his past-life experiences and sharp business skills to guide him in the foreign lands of Galdardia, he takes up the name Luciel and vows that his (next) demise will be from naught but old age. And what better way to avoid a(nother) gruesome death, than by taking up a nice, cushy job as a healer?

But getting by in another world doesn’t come easy, or cheap. It’ll take a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to hone the skills he needs to make his way. But make it he will… or die (again) trying!

consistent low pressure entertainment

Good writing and excellent story with clear and well paced narration. It's not a literary great, but consistent entertainment without making me feel stress. Good message too.

the only complaint I got is that it's 12 chapters long with some interludes from other people's perspectives. I understand it from a Manga point of view, but this was a light number one and I was expecting at least 20 chapters. but aside from that, it was pretty all right slice of Life but, not too crazy but at least honest work

So glad they're making them audiobooks

The performance was good, but some of the dialogue came off a bit cornier than I think it could have if it had been read differently. Hard to say how much of that is the performance and how much is the light novel itself. I enjoyed the anime, and I'm biased in that I just love the story and setting (plus I will usually watch any trash isekai that gets made because the concept is an easy escape from everyday life). This story has its own pitfalls and logical issues, and the MC is a bit dumb at times, but if you like the isekai genre, this is definitely a fun one. This first novel doesn't get real deep or anything, and it's mostly there to set the story, but I still enjoyed it. At the very least this story excludes some of the more problematic themes you see in isekai like depicting slavery in a positive light or glorifying a perverted MC. Overall, it's a fun, light hearted story and worth the listen, in my opinion. The translation seemed good, and like I said, while not my favorite interpretation of the dialogue, the performance wasn't bad.

It’s a fun story

I enjoyed it! I’m a fan of the anime adaptation. It fills in the gaps in the anime.

Cute and Wholesome

I have to say that I'm kind of biased here since I've seen the anime already and liked it a lot. It isn't an amazing story or even an original idea but it is well executed, cute, and wholesome. I think maybe some people might find this volume a little boring in that, when you really get down to it, it's basically just the MC doing a lot of training and winning people over with cheap healing. However, if memory serves me, the next volume should have a lot more action to it based on what I remember of the anime. Anyway, if the description sounds good to you then I'd give this a go. My only real complaint was that there are a couple of chapters from alternate points of view that were so redundant as to be mostly worthless. Luckily these are short.
