Story
Isla Tansy Mortenson Wallace was a noted local neurosurgeon, wife of local veterinarian Jim Wallace, and one of Chattanooga’s movers and shakers. That is until she was found dead on her own property. Did she fall off her horse? Was she thrown? Was she murdered? And if she was killed, by whom, and how, and why? Why does Lt. Kate Gazzara not want Harry Starke anywhere near the case? Lots of questions and no answers.

Maggie Hart, a student at UTC, was abducted on Labor Day. Her body was found five days later on the RiverPark. She'd been strangled. She wasn't the first, nor would she be the last. Harry Starke, recovering from a near-death experience, is dragged reluctantly into an investigation that quickly turns into a cat and mouse game between Harry and a very clever killer, Harry being the mouse. Story
Harry Starke loves a cold case, but this one is really cold - more than a hundred years cold. Family Matters is a whimsical tale, a flight of fancy. It takes place on the lonely coast of Maine, where Amanda, a true believer in the paranormal, has inherited - you guessed it - a haunted house. Or at least that's what the rumors say. The inheritance comes with a request to look into the disappearance of Elizabeth, Amanda's great-great-grandmother, more than a hundred years ago.

Strike first and strike hard. And so it begins. Harry and his army of three must go up against old enemies, but they face almost insurmountable odds.

Publisher's Summary
"Stand absolutely still, Amanda," she read, "and you won't get hurt." Two seconds later a bullet from a sniper's rifle shattered the driver's side window of her Lexus SUV.
That's how it began, early on a Friday morning when Amanda, Harry's wife, found the note tucked under her windshield wiper. The incident was quickly followed by a series of events that would put his family and friends in deadly danger and test Harry to his limits.

Harry Starke stories never let you down!
Just when you think the “Harry” stories can’t get any better another great new read comes along.
Harry has never had a fight on his hands like this one, someone wants him dead, but that someone wants to play games.
Once again, all the team are pulling for Harry, but there isn’t much they can do to help him, Harry does everything he can to keep them out of the way because he knows what will happen to them if they interfere in this battle of wits.
The thing is, Harry thinks he knows who wants him dead but he doesn’t know who is trying to do the deed. This adds to the excitement, which, in this story, gets quite intense.
Brilliantly entertaining Five star story, Highly recommended.
Narrated by Tom Lennon, who yet again makes Harry and the team come alive. Each time I listen to a new Harry Starke book I am reminded yet again of how lucky we are that someone chose Tom to narrate this series.

This one is very intense
I love all of Howard's Harry Starke books. If he writes anything else I don't know and don't care.
This one is probably the most intense. Violence is not a big part of most of the others and it is all this one revolves around. Even though the climax is kind of predictable you still want to cheer when it arrives.
Once again Tom Lennon does a terrific job.

Excellent
Good narration by Tom Lennon brought the story out, having a good voice to listen too-...given audio for my voluntary review CALAWAY. JONES. by Blair Howard. I love all of his books, and this is another winner. Even in prison Harper, is out for revenge, calling in Shady to get a job done. First has to be mental anguish for Harry, and wife Amanda, before killing. Harry has his job cut out for him, to keep family safe and find the assassin. The plot flows, characters you will love. Each can be read separately.

He was good, but his friends were better!
An assassin has been given an assignment, Amanda and Harry Starke are the main targets. It's one of those episodes where the best of the best is outsmarted by someone even better. Thrilling tale, classic Starke ending!
