Publisher's summary

Butterflow will take you into the author’s experiences of dealing with emotional trauma and complex PTSD spanning 33 years. The author acquired complex PTSD when she was a young child, and because she wasn’t diagnosed her struggles continued into adulthood.

As a consequence of the trauma and abuse she experienced, she spiraled to the depths of despair, struggling to function normally due to anxiety, stress, depression, fear, BDD, and OCD. Eventually, those inner struggles led to another traumatic event in adulthood that would turn her life upside down. At the age of 36, she discovered she had complex PTSD and began the journey of understanding and healing.

The poems in this book are expressive and candid. Through the twists and turns she shares personal details of her experiences, emotions, and lessons learnt along the way. She wrote these poems as a part of her healing process, and to fearlessly express her feelings of living with PTSD.

She released the writings in the hope that it will help others who struggle to express themselves, and start their own journey to healing.

The author chose to call this book Butterflow as it documents her process of healing and rediscovering her authentic self after it being concealed for so long through writing. Much like a butterfly, the author's metamorphosis is laid out in this audiobook.

Not For Me

I'm sure it took a lot quite a lot of courage for the author to publish this book, but I found the poetry itself hard to sit through. I think that it was rudimentarily composed. I wish I were a better person where I could ignore it I just focus on the sentiment of her emotional struggle, but I could not. I hope other still give the book a chance. I also found the performance of the narrator a little lackluster and the accent a bit difficult to tolerate.
