Publisher's summary

Napoleon Hill, the forefather of the modern personal development movement and author of the motivational classic, Think and Grow Rich, has inspired millions with his words and thoughts on discovering success and abundance within oneself. It is a message that continues to resonate, but few have ever had the opportunity to hear the “success” lecture by the man himself.

At the University of Virginia archives, Don M Green, CEO of the Napoleon Hill Foundation, was doing a routine inventory check when he discovered a box of unedited and undeveloped 16-millimeter film canisters, circa 1960. After working carefully to restore and digitize the filmed content, what was discovered was "pure gold" - Napoleon Hill and his longtime partner W. Clement Stone sharing their inspirational insights on the 13 keys to success.

The Napoleon Hill Foundation sent a copy of the archive film to a who’s who list of today’s top motivational speakers and achievers whose feedback was unanimous in its praise. Agreeing to participate in an innovative structure, each current thought leader went into the studio to share provocative insights on these revisited gems, creating a masterful collaboration unlike anything else in the marketplace.

In this unique audio program, you will not only hear W. Clement Stone and Napoleon Hill share their time tested insights, but you will also hear additional commentary by today’s inspirational leaders as they expand on these time-tested and classic principles of success. In the same format as a radio show, join us as we countdown the 13 Keys to Success.

Hosted by Greg S. Reid with additional commentary by Don M. Green, Bob Proctor, Sharon Lechter, Mark Victor Hansen, Loral Langemeier, Les Brown, David M. Corbin, Margie Aliprandi, Nik Halik, LuAn Mitchell, Ruben Gonzalez, Dr. J.B. Hill, John St. Augustine, Kevin Harrington, Jim Stovall, Marcia Wieder, John Assaraf, and Brian Tracy.

They made great material utterly unbearable

First let me start off by saying that I enjoy and have almost everything that Audbile offers as far as Napoleon Hill goes. Even though most of the material overlaps I just enjoy listening to it in a different styles and formats.

I also enjoy most of the other guests on this audobook and have some of their individual works.

With that said this was the worst. First the quality was bad it sounds like it was recorded using tin cans and string.

After I found that they had some real Napoleon Hill and W. Clement Stone recordings I felt I could get past the awful recording quality. Needless to say I couldnt.

Mr. Hill's and Mr. Stone's sections were great , quality was crisp and clear and the information was great.

It got bad when everyone else started talking about the lessons that were presented by Hill and Stone. When the "masters" were talking about the lessons they kept mentioning their name every time. It really sounded like a bad conference call.

Les Brown and Brian Tracey were great not as annoying as the other narrators.

Needless to say I struggled to get past this. The bad quality plus the bad conference call feeling didn't do it for me.

Im not sure if I am going to return it there are some great nuggets from Mr. Hill of information just not sure if it was worth a credit.

5 stars for Mr. Hill; 1 star for the host/guests

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would recommend the book, but not the audio program. While Mr. Hill is always great to listen to, the host/guests who added their take on the 13 principles were really bad. The host is a little over the top. The guests are subtlety fighting for alpha dog by bragging on how many millions of people they've trained, etc. While I appreciate what the publisher was trying to accomplish with this approach, having today's self-help "gurus" add to what Mr. Hill was teaching, it just didn't work for me.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I enjoyed getting to hear some of W. Clement Stone along with Mr. Hill describing some details behind these concepts. The least interesting is that most of the information is already in "Think and Grow Rich." I picked up a few things, but most of it I already had learned in prior books and recordings from Mr.Hill.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Mr. Hill's voice always gets my attention. So I would say that was the most interesting. The least interesting was the "host" who was counting down the principles and facilitating the discussion, very corny.

Could you see Napoleon Hill - The Road to Riches being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No.

Any additional comments?

Just save yourself the time and read the book so you can skip the guest speakers. I was disappointed with most of them as they mainly gave some reasons behind why they liked certain principles and rarely gave any additional information as to how to apply it to your life.

Simply beautiful. Makes you think. Changed my life

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes.This is the way we all should act. The world would be a better place if we all adhered to his directions. I would like to shake Dr. Hill's hand.

Runied Great Content With The Fake Webinar Acting!

Would you try another book from Napoleon Hill and/or the narrators?

I will always try and buy any book from Napoleon Hill, but will be more careful about how the information is presented and by whom in the future.

What other book might you compare Napoleon Hill - The Road to Riches to and why?

I would compare the great content with Hill's other works like Think & Grow Rich and others. The content is timeless.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Where do I begin! The main narrator came off as insincere and "canned" in this presentation that tried to mimic a "mastermind group" all talking about the points that Mr. Hill presented in each section ... adding their own input. I'm sorry but bad acting and interacting trying to create the illusion that this was spontaneous input was poorly done and obvious. The core content was wonderful, but the presenter (trying to be slick) just detracted from the overall presentation, making is an "annoying listen".

Don't get me wrong, the other participants are fantastic people - many of whom I have learned from, read and listened to. But this construction of this presentation did no justice to the source material OR for the participants.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Only if it were based solely on Mr. Hill's material and not the input of the narrators in this particular case.

Any additional comments?

To future narrators and authors ... don't try to "guild the lily". Please be sure if you are redoing this type of content that it's about the content and not about you.

Awesome summary of Think and Grow Rich

I love this book, as I would like to listen to Think and Grow Rich every 6 months however it is relativley long. This is an excellent refresher to remind you what to do.

I wouldn't hesitate getting this even if you have not read his masterpiece.

Enjoy!
