Jason is successful, confident, and unlovable. Living in the heart of Soho with his found family brothers, he masks his trauma with more sass than you can throw glitter at. After love burned him once, he vowed never to let it happen again. One night, one time, no attachments. That’s how he survives and protects his heart.
Patrick knows loss too well. His husband’s sudden death shattered his world, and he believes he’ll never feel that kind of connection again. Then Jason storms into his life. A pint-sized spitfire with haunted eyes. Fifteen years younger than him, a boy who he shouldn’t want but can’t resist. Patrick’s daddy instincts are to hold, to heal, to care, but Jason refuses to be saved.
Their undeniable attraction spans a year of push and pull, as all of Jason’s brothers find their happy endings around him, leaving him with the possibility of being alone, as he has been all his life. When Jason gives into his desire for Patrick, his past mistakes come back to bite him. His ex-husband, a ruthless mob boss, wants him back. And he doesn’t care who gets hurt in the process.
In the explosive final chapter of the Soho Knights series, all the questions will finally be answered. Will everyone’s baby brother, Jason, finally get the happily ever after he truly deserves, or will it come at the price of another devastating loss?
Although this book can be listened to as a standalone, the timeline runs across the entire series, so does include spoilers for the other books in the Soho Knights series. These aren't excessive, but not possible to avoid completely.

Spice - 🌶🌶🌶
Narration - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Broken Promises is book #5 (and final installment 😢) of the Soho Knights series. Jason and Patrick have both suffered hurt and loss. Jason is a young professional, but a party boy with no repeats. Patrick is older, a widower, and only interested in another long term relationship. Patrick can see through Jason's facade that he shows to everyone and recognizes the loneliness and hurt. Their story plays throughout the series and it has been a tug of war between them. I'm so happy to finally see them get their HEA!! I absolutely loved this story, this series, and I'm so sad to see it end!! 😭
The duet narration is absolutely brilliant! James Joseph and Derek Duvall really complemented each other with their voicing. These two completely sold the age-gap romance, the spiciest spice, and the heartfelt emotions between their characters. 5/5 this-is-the-end stars!!
Hate to see this series end!! 😭

I will say this is my first book by this author and it doesn't completely feel like it should be a standalone. I felt like some details were just glossed over as I assume they were present in the other books.
Jason was such a sweetheart who really just needed someone to love and challenge him. His ex was terrible to him.
Patrick lost his partner and hasn't been interested in anyone else until Jason walked in. Unfortunately Jason was in his hit it and quit it era so Patrick has to work for more.
I think this had huge potential so I think if I had read them all it would have been so much better. The connection with the "brothers" was so sweet and I wanted more of it.
For me the Daddy/boy dynamic is very hit or miss. I think it worked really well in this book and was really hot to listen to Jason begging Daddy for what he wanted. And Daddy calling out his brat.
Lovely narrators

Patrick and Jason deserved this hea so much! All the friend group did and it was great seeing all the couples end up happy!
Both main characters in this book have some hard past events. And some very difficult hurdles to jump to be together.
James Joseph and Dereck Duvall were great as James and Patrick! They had the boy/daddy vibe down to a T!!
I love book series that follow friend groups and seeing parts of the story through the other characters pov! And this was definitely that!

First, Derek Duvall and James Joseph both have yummy voices! It was a delightTe to listen to this audio and not just because I enjoyed the story lol. I could listen to them taking turns reading the dictionary! The voices for all the characters were distinct, including slightly different accents appropriate to class and region, so I always knew who was speaking. The female characters sounded female and appropriate as well. Both narrators emoted well - I could feel the pain, the love, the lust, everything!
This book concludes the series and wraps up the stories of all the 'brothers'. I began this series with the first book and so I'm familiar with all the characters and this finale does them justice. I am sad to leave this world, but so happy all the boys get their HEAs. From the beginning of the series, Jason has been the most intriguing character! I have been so interested to get the backstory for this sassy, darling twink who finally gets just the right Daddy for him. I knew Jason's background was going to be tragic and devastating and well, it really was. I felt so much for him, growing up like that, dealing with what he had to endure. But his trauma didn't end in childhood, alas. Even as an adult, he was left emotionally bereft by people who were supposed to love him, so it's clear why he became who he became.
Luckily for Jason, we see hints at just who will be the right man for him very early on ( so yes! We are teased with his story all the way through the series). We meet Patrick in book one as well - he is a kind and good friend to Sebastian, though he is burdened by grief. I also grew to adore him, especially through the love he shows his friend and then to Jason. Patrick just gets Jason and is able to show him just how worthy of love he is...*tears*. He is a good and patient Daddy to Jason, who has major ADHD along with all his trauma.
There are multiple bumps on the road to Jason's and Patrick's HEA and that includes a villain of the story. This villain is written deftly and isn't at all one dimensional. I know he's the bad guy but I'm low key hoping for redemption for him and maybe his own book.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story and how everything is wrapped up for all the boys! I can't wait to read more from this author!
Sweet boy get his Daddy + HEA!

I enjoyed listening to the duet narration of James Joseph and Derek Duvall. I was captured from start to finish.
I instantly fell in love with Patrick and his caring patient daddy personality.
I ached for Jason and wanted to wrap him in a hug. His story brought me to tears.
We also get to see the soft loving side of Grant and my heart ached for him. I am sure we will be seeing a story about him in the future.
There are bits of the story that I felt were glossed over but I think this might have been because I didn’t hear the series from the beginning!
This is only my second book from this series but I have already fallen in love with the brothers and their Soho Knights.
I do think that the series would be more enjoyable if you read / listen from beginning to end so you can get the back stories on all the different characters. I know I will be going back to the start to capture the other brothers’ stories.
