From visionary creator Kenya Barris (beloved TV sitcom Black-ish and the podcast Unusual Suspects). Starring comedy legends Jenifer Lewis, Cedric the Entertainer, and Niecy Nash-Betts, Big Age follows recently retired couple Dot and Butch Watts' reluctant relocation to their new Floridian home, Sunset Gardens, a senior community that is anything but relaxing.

In Barris' retirement community, Dot and Butch encounter a parade of unforgettable personalities pushing their fifty-year marriage to the limit. There's Ethel (Nash-Betts), Butch's flirtatious ex-flame; spiritually possessed neighbors; pesky pill-pushing couples; and the ferociously competitive Stevenator.

Through its blend of outrageous comedy (key party, anyone?) and touching revelations, Big Age explores what it means to grow older without growing old at heart. As the Watts learn to embrace their quirky new world, they discover that senior living can be delightfully thrilling—if you let it. Crank up the volume and buckle in; growing old is not for the faint of heart.

Editorial Review

Age ain't nothin' but a number, big or small!
Kenya Barris proves once again he makes comedies for all ages, including "big ages." His latest listen, following retired couple Dot and Butch's new life at their Florida retirement home, tickled me from start to finish. As someone who grew up watching the legendary comedic talents of both Cedric the Entertainer (Butch) and Jenifer Lewis (Dot), I jumped on this listen. Safe to say, I wasn't let down in the least, especially with the razzle-dazzle Niecy Nash-Betts adds to the cast. The combination of such iconic voices and Barris's undeniable ability to make hilarious comedies in any format hooked me from the beginning. The hijinks, like catastrophic meetings with new neighbors and new types of party invitations (hint: you put your key in the bowl), will keep your stomach hurting. — Nicole R., Audible Editor

I listened for a quick refresh between some heavy reads. It was great to hear a cast of familiar voices. The story was corny and cute, but realistic.

Cute & Funny listen

Interesting story. Wasn't sure where it was going but it was different and kept my attention. Definitely worth a listen. The characters were great and each held their own.

Fun and entertaining

Listened all in one sitting! This could definitely be a book based film/movie premiere, then a TV series sitcom of endless episodes. Yes, it was really that good and brilliantly presented as an audiobook! Great read/listen. Thank you.

Movie into a TV series sitcom!!
