Publisher's summary

A husband’s obsessive desire for a child leads to an unexpected manifestation of his yearning in a nightmarish short story about fatherhood dreams by New York Times bestselling author Joe Hill.

Willy and Marianne’s farmhouse in Maine has acres of meadow and fresh air, and a lonesome bridle path in the forest along which Willy daydreams and ambles. When he’s loaned a decrepit old baby stroller to cart his groceries home, the rickety squeak of the wheels comforts him. So do the sweet coos of a baby Willy knows can’t be real. Can it? In this twisted thicket, wishes come true—with a price.

Joe Hill’s The Pram is part of Creature Feature, a collection of devilishly creepy stories that tingle the spine and twist the mind. They can be read or listened to in one petrifying sitting.

Not bad at all

Of all the Joe Hill books I have ever read, this is the oe that most reminds me of Stephen King. I dug it.

The plot

I wish the story would’ve been longer. It was a good story, just didn’t last long enough.

Freaking Brilliant!

TW: Miscarriage
It would have been easy to have written this from a grieving mother's perspective. No, not Joe. It is so seldom that a father's loss is recognized, much less explored. Well DONE!

Gory & Predictable-Excellent Narration

I had heard of the author, but this was the first story of his I had read. I had the ending figured out by the time the couple had moved in. I've read too many Preston and Child books so it is very difficult to surprise me. It was well written and very gory. Did stop too soon and some ends not tied up. With this book I have now read the entire series. My favorite was the ankle biter. Far spookier without all the gore and a more frightening ending. My favorite Amazon Original series remains the two seasons of Nameless. Narration was excellent.

Great length for commute to/from work!

I loved this. Is it a cult story or a supernatural story? I won’t say except that it’s really creepy, and got creepier and more gory as the story progressed. This story contains horror connected to grief, which just hits hard. I always love Joe Hill’s work and this was a lot of fun to read, especially coming up on the Halloween season. I sort of wish it was longer-I’d love to know more about the Sin Planters.

The nice, short length at just 1:31 meant it was easy for me to start and finish while commuting. Narrator Robert Petkoff did a great job💯

I’ve been looking forward to this Creature Feature collection on Amazon & Audible for ages. So glad it’s finally available!

meh

Meh, yet another offering from Hill that dips only a single toe into trying to fill his father's shoes, a failed attempt resembling only the faintest shadow of a master.
