Overall decent book

I liked the storyline! The Horse could’ve not been in the book period! The horse also made the end of the book very anti climactic. But the story in all was good

But hey, this is Athan's book so, you know it's gonna be twisted and dark.

Scoot McDonald is the kind of hero you root for, even as he carves his way through crime syndicates, parking garages, and his own moral compass. Imagine Taxi Driver but with fewer morals and more bodily fluids, and you’re halfway there. Jon Athan doesn’t just write dark—he writes with a flashlight in a cave filled with regret, shame, and enough blackmail to make you rethink every decision you’ve ever made. Highly recommended for readers who love their protagonists battered, broken, and bleeding internally.

bad decisions is an understatement

the way this guy's decisions just snowball in such a short time is crazy but believable really feel sorry for the guy. the naration was ok but maybe it's just me the voices sometimes are over the top. I understand why and probably many people like that but it is just a bit much for me.
