unique plot, very entertaining

I took a chance in something outside my normal wheelhouse, and I'm glad I did. what a fun and
unique story that isnt on short adventure, rivals and funny quips. Definitely an enjoyable story I was also able to share with my young son, double bonus.

Definitely worth a read

Slow start but once it gets going it’s a none stop thrill ride I couldn’t put down. I enjoyed the the subtle humor which at times wasn’t that subtle I would still say my favorite part was the clear tribute to the princess bride that most fans of the movie would catch fairly clearly. it was a world that was very interesting and at times I just got hungry reading about the wonderful food being used in this book. I am looking forward to reading more.

Entertaining but forgetable

It is a funny romp through a fantasy world where food can be used for magic. But I didn't find that it elevated itself into being something truly memorable.
I met the author and bought it based on his passion (and the thought of a Bacon Master!), and enjoyed it but don't see the need to continue in the series. I'll try some other of Frank Morin's work, but think that the very Piers Anthony or Discworld inspired Bacon Master series isn't for me.

Candied Bacon! Yummy!

This was my first Frank Morin book. It took a few chapters to kind of get an idea of what was going on, but be patient, because it all comes together.

Delightfully entertaining and filled with dad jokes galore.
