An interesting audiobook that helps you come up with a good name for your baby and gives the story behind many of the names in the book. This is perfect for new parents that are looking for ideas for the name of their new child.

This is a great book for anyone who needs to pick out names, whether for a baby, a pet, or characters in a book you're writing. There are not that much you can choose from modern quirky to old-fashioned classics. Each were arranged by listing having the name's origin, meaning, and alternate spelling and forms in alphabetical order. Plus there are many short lists toward the front for specific categories: including Mythological, musicians by genre, actors, Old West, and even names from the great movies like Harry Potter series. This is quite an interesting collection of names and name suggestions!

Excellent selection of names

I especially liked that the book also carries a lot of older names as well. Again, when writing you often need names that sound unique or even mythical, without truly being the names of fantastic characters. Old names are great for that - they look and sound easy just to seem natural, but they're old enough to sound mysterious.

We liked this book after actually analyzing through 10+ other name books in the Audio bookstore. This one caught our eye because it was just recently updated in 2016 and also contained various lists that other books did not. In increase to clearly entering names by sex in alphabetic order, Clara War included various, other lists too. The name choice has been truly unique and different (some of them I don't even know how to pronounce) but traditional names were also included.
