Colton and Amelia

Love it! The narrators performance is perfection. I had to listen to it in one sitting. A year after Colton and Amelia meet at a wedding they are forced together when she is in need of a place to hide out with her kids. They have amazing chemistry and Amelia tries to fight it but Colt is so sweet, supportive, caring and before long all lines are crossed. This book is full of heat, angst, suspense, and twists I didn't see coming. Definitely a tear jerker and had me going through a range of emotions. I couldn't help but fall in love with Amelia, Colton, those adorable kids and all the wonderful family and friends. 10 out of 10 star must read or listen.

Loved It!

Take My Kiss is book 3 in the Willow Branch Mountain series, it can read entirely fine as a standalone, but for a deeper understanding of family dynamics reading in order definitely enhances the experience. I absolutely love returning to Willow Branch, this small town is a little treat. The people inside it even more. I always love revisiting all the characters from previous books and series as they make appearances. I was hooked right from the start, since the ending of the previous book I was waiting for Colton's story, I knew he would be swoony, but never this swoony. The man deserves an award! The added suspense Brooke sprinkled in this one was so good, it kept me hooked and intrigued, truly catching me off guard with the twists.

Colton is a dream. He is so perfect. The way he cared, cherished and worshipped Amelia was absolutely beautiful. He was patient, respectful of her boundaries and let her come to him when she was ready. He cared for her 2 children as if they were his own, that right there is a true man. All the acts of service he does made my heart melt. Amelia was such a fierce FMC, so strong, resilient and the best mom to her babies. The connection between Colton & Amelia was fire, they had so much chemistry, fun banter but also so much trust between each other. After that bonus epilogue I cannot wait for the next book!

Overall, this was another fantastic installment in this series. Colton, Amelia & the kids truly won my heart.

🎧 The narration by Aaron Shedlock & Meg Sylvan was so good. Loved them together, their voices just fit perfectly. They really played the characters so well, bringing out all the emotions and the flirty banter in their performances. They also played the kids very well which I always enjoy.

Love the single mom trope

Dare I say this was my favorite in the series so far?? I'm a sucker for the single parent trope though and this one was excellent!

Amelia is a single mom of two who needs a place to hide out as she or her kids may have a potential stalker. Unbeknownst to them, her friends set her up at Colton's place, who she had a one-night stand with back at his cousin's wedding. The circumstances aren't ideal, but as you can imagine, they are playing with fire trying to deny feelings.

The way Colton steps in for her and her kids is absolutely swoon worthy. He's a good cook, does little things like schedule her a massage, takes care of her when she's sick, and protects them with everything he has. The way he connects with both the kids, who really haven't had a father figure in their lives was so precious.

There is quite a bit of mystery and suspense with this one, I think a little more than normal from Brooke, but I loved it. She definitely threw a few curve balls I didn't see coming.

This is narrated dual style by Meg Sylvan and Aaron Shedlock. I thoroughly enjoy both of their voices. They pulled off the southern twang that Brooke writes the dialog in. Both of them have to play a variety of voices, including the kids, and I never felt pulled from the story at all when they were performing the opposite sex. There is a lot of emotion for these characters, and both of them conveyed all of that well.

I’ve really been enjoying this series—books one and two pulled me in completely—so I went into this one with high expectations.
The story definitely had its moments. I was invested in the characters and curious to see where things would go, but overall it didn’t hit me the same way the first two books did. The emotional depth felt a little uneven, and there were times I wanted just a bit more connection to really feel those bigger moments.
That said, I still found myself engaged enough to keep listening and wanting to see how everything plays out for this group.
Even though this one didn’t quite land for me, I’m absolutely continuing the series—I’m too invested in Willow Branch Mountain to stop now and can’t wait to see what’s next.

Colton is such an amazing MMC. His golden retriever vibes and the way he takes care of Amelia and the kids really makes him stand out. The way Amelia, Colton, and the kids really formed a family unit had me at an emotional high.

Meg Sylvan and Aaron Shedlock do such a great job with these characters! Meg is the epitome of a strong single mom with a hint of vulnerability, and Aaron’s strong and confident vibes really shown through as Colton.
