World War 3.1

The Axis of Time Reloaded, Book 1

By: John Birmingham

Narrated by: Peter Noble

The year is 1954. A decade has passed since Berlin and Tokyo were consumed by nuclear fire, but war claws its way back to a world forever altered. The ailing Soviet dictator, Josef Stalin, strikes NATO with a colossal orbital assault, propelling waves of tanks and over a million soldiers westward—all armed with twenty-first-century tech plundered from a future they never knew.

Admiral Kolhammer, Prince Harry, and Charlotte Francois are compelled to once again take arms. They're fighting not only to save the world, but history itself. Yet, in this complex web of time and conflict, not everybody wants to be saved.

Brimming with the raw combat intensity and high-octane alternate history that fans adored in Weapons of Choice, this fresh installment revitalizes the groundbreaking Axis of Time series for both returning fans and newcomers.

Love this series

I love this series of books. The new one is good, just miss the prior narrator. It changes it up by having a different voice. That would be the only thing I could say I miss.

General Jones good, Harry not

The subplot with Harry seemed out of tune with the rest of the storyline. Enjoyed General Jones’ appearances. Nice glimpses into tech and weapons platforms.

Excellent start to new Trilogy.

Great to catch up with familiar characters. A decade or so has passed and we catch up with the main players. Very condensed and action packed. A bit less humour than early books but very fleshed out characters.

Disjointed and Fragmented

Premise sounded amazing but 4 hours in, I just had to stop listening and gave up. I will be refunding. Story moves at a glacial pace, way too many rabbit hole narratives and extraneous, unnecessary details that add nothing to the story nor move it along. I had high hopes but was left terribly disappointed.
