Being mistaken for an Ancient Predecessor usually results in heavenly benefits. Not for James Anderson.

After being thrown into an isolated training realm, he is quick to figure out that there is no tutorial. No guidance. No ancient being to fully unlock his system. For eons he remains stuck by himself. Only system notifications and rewards appearing out of thin air keep him from going insane.

But even that eventually stops working.

Standing at the precipice of the Isolated Realm, he closes his eyes and jumps.

A tear in reality opens under his feet, unbeknownst to him. It dumps him into a cultivation world gone awry. Demons and evil cultivators now dominate the world. Righteous sects and clans hole up in caves and array-defended mountain peaks.

Why do they hide? Well, let's just say James has something to do with it.

Follow James Anderson, or is it Yin Hu, as he is dragged into petty squabbles and the lives of the last remaining Hu Family members; Hu Shui and Hu Jun.

Will he achieve his ultimate dream? Will there finally be his dream lady to pamper him after eons of struggling? Or maybe he should begin a harem-chasing adventure?

Follow James (Yin Hu) as he navigates the world with the belief he isn't that strong.

I was pleasantly surprised for how good this book turned out. It turned out to be an incredible book to listen too. Can’t wait to listen to the second book.

Great book!

It was funny for awhile, but it quickly becomes extremely annoying. Like come on, we get it, but no one lives this long and is this freaking dumb. It kills the book when it barely even starts.

HOW OBLIVIOUS CAN THE MC BE?!?

to start off the mc supposedly spends countless eons by themself and believes he's in a tutorial world but his system is broken. the broken system immediately no longer makes this litrpg and just gamelit. pedantic I know but it feels like an important issue with this book, like I want to like it but the mc then finally gets to interact with people to find out he knows nothing because his "tutorial" didnt teach him anything but of course made him op anyway because he in basically how he describes played around and getting random rewards from said broken system. then of course goes around thinking he's weak after cause despite being op once again he knows nothing which is frustrating cause it's like did you really not practice anything and think nah none of those skills are useful cause the all powerful system doesn't work. like at one point they give a time reference of like 60,000 years having passed and it's like what were you doing. like he even says the thought that it's all a tutorial is what kept him sane but that still feels like a lazy way of saying I did lots of things but I don't remember any of them. I doubt I will continue as I only even finished this one out of pure hatred for the mc.

For an introduction this did not go well

If you liked Overlord and want to see a found family and moderately wholesome version of that, this is your book. I just wish they'd edited it better.

Overlord for Xianxia fans.
