One day, six towers appear on Earth. Each one stands hundreds of stories tall, and are invulnerable to all attacks. At the base of each tower is a portal, welcoming in all who dare enter it. All sorts of magical monsters can be found inside the towers. Even treasure, magic and superhuman strength can be acquired. The problem is that the towers aren't a friendly place. Even worse, the towers sometimes release waves of monsters to attack Earth.

In the year 2083, there are only a hundred survivors. In one last attempt, they challenge the final floor without regard for their lives. By some miracle, they manage to beat the floor at the cost of their lives, leaving only one survivor. As a reward for clearing the tower, he is granted one wish. He decides to go back in time to before the towers arrived. His goal is simple: prevent humanity from being wiped out.

The Story is great and follows a nontraditional hero for these types. He isn't the one who deals the most damage or inspires people with his presence. He is a tank taking blows for his allies so they can best hurt the enemies. It is almost flawless for the first two books but the third felt very rushed in many ways, the ending while finishing a bit of the main meat of the story leaves a lot of stuff undone. I also would barely call this litRPG while there are stats and those elements for the most part outside of damage number they are incredibly (and to one like me disappointingly) rare. This may not be a problem for most readers/listeners but I like the level ups, stat sheets, and rising of numbers that are usually found in these type of stories. Also the journey through the tower is often glazed over and not really going into depth. I would recommend this story to anyone as a story but I am afraid that I would not in good conscious recommend it for die hard litRPG or tower climber fans.

Great work but feels incomplete.

The book starts out ok but nothing really happens.. the story is boring . There is very little descriptions in these books

Very typical American

The story gets worse as you go from book to book. The MC’s attitude and actions becoming less logical, and more melodramatic. The writing also becomes painfully redundant, enough so that it feels like being in middle school trying to add an extra 50 words to your 500 word “essay” without adding anything of substance. Things are simply restated by other characters, in a mildly different way.

There are deaths scattered throughout the books, but they don’t feel significant, even when it’s clear the author is trying to make them seem so. There’s no weight to it, we’re told that an individual was the best in the role, and their loss is a tragedy, but it changes literally nothing about the rest of the story. They are less than a footnote.

Currently forcing myself through the final book, but even at 2x speed it’s a struggle.

Poor writing, but a decent(ish) story

Bad things happen to the protagonist, but he is endowed with the greatest new super power and everything works out fine. Rinse and repeat, but with bigger numbers. At no point does any character become fully interesting or the story actually exciting. I wonder what the readers rating this as 5 star have read in the past, and feel sorry for them.

Falls to build suspense and characters worth investing in

Honestly probably the best series I've read in awhile. It's up there with Hell Difficulty Tutorial for me

Now this is how a story is told
