It'll break you, but it'll be worth it

This book is everything you hope never happens to you with the man who you hope is there if it does. Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell deserve all the awards for this 9+ hours of beautiful torture I could not stop listening to. And I mean that in the best way. I usually shy away from books that are so real-life heartbreak, and while I cried. A lot. I still loved it. I wanted to hug all three of these characters so hard throughout this entire book, and Maxine's kid voice for Ever is perfect. There are some great side characters (shoutout to Will), and Adriana Locke's writing is A+. The combined writing and narration will keep you on your toes until the very end. Seriously. Like, all the way through to the epilogues end. I'm not going to say more because I don't want to spoil it, but definitely worth it. I do suggest taking listening breaks and having a happy listen cued up if you need it.

Prepare for the emotions

Wow. This book was a hard one for me. The last book that did this to me was When Ashes Fall by Marni Mann. I have to give it 5 stars as it ripped me apart and spit me out. Then finished by putting me back together again. All I kept thinking was “no she can’t do this to me”. I’m still working on recovering from this listen and I think it will be a long time before this happens again (at least let’s hope so).

Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell join together once again. It’s been a while since I’ve listened to this pair. It was so nice to revisit them.

Wow what an emotional ride

I’ve listened to so many of Adriana Lockes books and she never disappoints. This has to be the most emotional journey I’ve been on with her since it involves a little girl with health issues and being a Mom of one it kinda tore me to pieces. This is a great story and Joe Arden does an amazing job as Crew and with all of his many accents, Sal and Will are is so awesome. Maxine Mitchell is incredible as Julia but I also love her voice for Ever. This is a great listen and though I didn’t sob all the way through there were definitely some very emotional moments. Such a great storyline, kuddos to Adriana Locke for this beauty if a rollercoaster ride.

Sacrifice, that is what this story is about sacrifice. Everytime I listen to a book with Joe and Maxine, I know I will either laugh, cry, or both. These two have such talent and are two of my favorite narrators.

This book is so emotional and beautiful!! I read it a few years ago as he finished the new duet narration.
I love audiobooks as re-reads and LOVE duet narration! Joe and Maxine are incredible bringing Crew and Julia to life!

This story is a reminder to fight for those we love in our lives! Julia is fighting for her daughters life and Crew fights -literally and figuratively for both of them. Life is messy and hard. But love helps with it all!

This is one of my all time favorite books! Adriana Locke writes from the heart, breaks our hearts in this book, tissues required…. But makes us want to love those on our lives a little more!
