Carter Morgan III hates everything about South Carolina University except for one thing: hockey.

As the starting netminder for the team, he lives for those moments when he can step onto the ice and between the pipes. Unfortunately, his time at school and on the team is slowly coming to an end. Although he'd love nothing more than to pursue a career in the NHL, he knows better than to get his hopes up.

Zeke Cassidy needs a place to live. When he answers an advertisement for a roommate, he's not sure what he is expecting except that it isn't Carter Morgan III. Carter is unfriendly and aloof, and they have nothing in common. Even so, the pair hit it off immediately and become friends.

Carter knows Zeke isn't interested in being anything beyond friends and roommates. Unfortunately, knowing this doesn't stop him from hoping for more, no matter how much he tries to convince himself it's impossible.

loved the grumpy sunshine vibes. these characters are super cute and sweet. definitely unique and worth reading

A Comfort Read and the Narrators were Perfect

I’ve read the book and now listening to it read by Iggy Toma and Liam DiCosimo just makes it better. Really love JJ Mulder’s writing!

Easy heartwarming romance

This was a nice heartwarming romance to read on a rainy summer day, I enjoyed it.

Loved having these two in my ears!!!

Such an amazing story and the narrators were perfect for the characters! Definitely one I will be listening to again!

Slow burn, but the storyline was good

This is the first time listening tot this author but with with Iggy and Liam you can’t go wrong. I liked that this book kept to the roles well and didn’t instantly try to change the characters personality to go from having hard limits to none at all. I know all these characters are fictional but I think it’s unrealistic to change characters traits so quickly. As my title suggests it was an extremely slow burn, but it keeps your interest. It’s about 1-2 🌶️🌶️ on spice level, but a cute story none the less. I would recommend and pick up their series with the other 2 books too.

So cute and so not shy

This is such a fun listen and I found myself laughing and smiling and awwing at the characters.

I’m so sad I’m finished but this is a definite and easy reread so I can visit Zeke and Carter again. The smut is not shy and very vulnerable and I LOVE THAT!

the characters were ok but the voice overs were not so good I couldn't feel the emotion being shared by the voice over especially for the coach

cute story

The story flows easily, and the characters don’t face much struggle or growth. It’s sweet, light, and perfect as a quick palate cleanser. I’d recommend it to a few people, but it’s not going to make my top 10.

This is the first book I've listened to with a character who was demi. I loved how patient Carter was with Zeke.

Such a sweet story

I’ve listened to my fair share of hockey romances and this one was as sweet as pie. I was anticipating the worst at one point but nope, J.J wrote a book that only fills you with butterflies.
