Blanchland Blues

The John and Alvis Sessions, Book 1

By: Tom Dell'Aringa

Narrated by: Connor Brannigan

John MacAlister's latest job ends the way most of them do—on fire.

Discharged from the Star Corps and scraping by on bad contracts, John's got one asset left: Alvis, a salvaged robot prototype with relentless logic, stubborn ethics, and zero patience for John's impulses.

Freedom from a lunar holding cell comes with strings: find Ril, a runaway teen carrying secrets powerful enough to topple a corporate empire.

Hand her over, walk free.

Protect her, burn every bridge he's got left.

The smart move is obvious.

John's never been smart.

A fast-paced sci-fi adventure about bad plans, moral lines, and two unlikely partners whose first mission is just the beginning.

Space western for hire.

A rollicking good time of a story with very good performances of the characters in the novel. The chemistry between the leads is unique and bodes well for future collaborations. Definitely an enjoyable listen with a little over the top at times but very entertaining and well worth the listen. I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Top notch

BlancheLand Blues was everything I hoped for. A great story well told and well narrated.

Fun book to read

Great dialogue and engaging characters. The performance was top notch. Well worth a read. Love the banter twixt the robot and main character.

Awesome book!

I really enjoyed this book! I strongly recommend it! Starts out strong and finishes stronger, I look forward to more

Fun and well developed characters.

I thought the characters were well developed. So often, characters act without any logical motivation, these fun guys were all given a true motivation for their feelings and actions. The world was fun and not just a copy paste version of generic sci fi. My only cringe was Hogan. He just felt too over the top at times. Maybe he just needs a little balancing. Thanks for a fun read.
